Successful farms are those that are above average.

Sometimes finding a synergy actually costs you less.

No matter how you look at it... ignorance is the most expensive

Tom I pay people and agencies to do that work for me. Surely they are doing their jobs.
The people are MR. Ritz and Ms. Raitt. The agencies are CTA. and CGC.

your good for a laugh, Tom
" it is going to cost less for seed now"
        that's a duzey .

the same day you ask for help.
because the railways that could do no wrong. are now eating their own young,
        (that's means you tom)

a corporate monopoly you and your party helped create , is now taking you to the cleaners.

at the same time you are promoting another corporate monopoly in seed.

and you fail to see a parallel.

        that is just about the
craziest thing i have ever heard

You want to show up your neighbour? Run your sprayer thru the field next to his yard for an extra pass, tell him you are applying a second application of fungicides and micros, but in fact its just water.

Then after harvest in the coffee shop you tell him your wheat yield increased 15 bushels.

Next year he tries the same. Now you are more efficient than your neighbor.

            Sawfly,

            Ag Canada,

            WGRF,

            Universities all across western Canada,

Producer funded breeding programs like AB,Sask,Mb pulse running for decades... as well as today,

            Secan... a farmer cooperative owned by CDN grain farmers right across Canada;

Lethbridge Ag Canada, Alberta Bean growers... with Alberta Specific bean varieties,

            Special Winter Wheat CDN varieties developed here... for our farms;

Do you even care...??? that to call this a monopoly seed system... is absurd... and in NO way can be compared to the rail transportation system in western Canada?

            Thanks for the Chat.

              wmoebis,

Do you have open... and good communication channels with these agencies and Ministers of Transport and Agriculture?

              When was the last time... you can give us a documented, specific and task related communication;

With the CGC, CTA, CN, CP, Prov Ag Dept, Local MLA, Prov Ag Minister, Federal Ag Minister or Transport Minister...

Are you planning such a communication?

Hope you are... we all need to give constructive and rational advice that can be truly considered... and acted upon.

We asked for increased RR interswitch distances... from 30km previously to new standard of 160km.

Is this enough? Is it proper that the interswitch distance revert back to 30km... after Aug 1 2016? Why not make it permanent, and extend it a further 100km... so it actually could create some competition on the rails?

How about allowing CP to run to Prince Rupert... on the CN line? They already jointly run both CN and CP directionally through the Frazer River canyon...

BNSF run into the Crows nest pass... from Coutts to pick up coal...

Why not have a third pass through the Rockies... to provide options... How about a link/pass straight through from Dawson Creek to Prince Rupert?

Why avoid the topic... and dump on me... like I was responsible for Hunter's actions of iron fisted statements:

" In its submission to the rail transport review, the CPR demanded that the grain revenue cap be removed. It said crop prices have outpaced the cap, implying that farmers can be reasonably expected to pay more for grain freight."

CP and CN got a huge gift on fuel this year... fuel fell after the submissions for 2014/15 rates; yet the railers gain a good 20 percent this year on cheaper fuel costs...

So why am I your object of disgust... when a simple request to be a responsible grain grower ... earns me a push by you... under a speeding freight train...

Write to your MP? - what a joke. Our MP refuses to allow people that disagree with the Government line into his office. You are simply not allowed to speak to him. How's that for democracy?

Furrow what does 6 liters/acre of Kulger 2075 cost? If the price is right it appears to work. Is it available in Alberta?

I'd like to see inter switching unlimited if it can be proven more grain will be moved as a result.

                    1) Let Omnitrax use CN/CP tracks to get more grain through Churchill.
                    2) Allow CP or other competition to move grain to Prince Rupert.
                    3) Allow BNSF to get grain from Canadian points back to US points or to a Canadian port if possible.

What are you talking about? I never said one word about you personally. This has nothing to do with you.

No I haven't, nor ever will, CC you in any my communications with anyone.

Yes I have put my opinion forward to many different organizations and political powers on many issues that I am very knowledgeable about. My experience with this gov't is that it falls on deaf ears.

Like I said Ritz and Raitt etal are paid to look after political communication with national and international Co's that deal in public affairs. If anyone should be making public letters of interest it is them.

Show us public letters that Ministers and MP's have written to the RR. or the grain Co's. addressing the situation. They are the ones that are being paid by the tax payers and should be publicly addressing letters. I'm not paid by public trust like they are.

I would never throw anyone under the train, but if someone trips over their own untied laces and falls under, don't expect to see me at their funeral. And I would expect the same treatment for me.
Final word: If Ritz, Raitt, all Mp's Mla's don't undrestand the problem by now my only letter to them will be at the next ballot box marked with an X.

Tom , seed growers just got a huge gift from UPOV 91 - but that's ok with you eh?
Good on you for the fight with the rail , giver er shit.
Kinda reminds me of my neighbour who once described a socialist conservative :
All for one and one for all ! Until I can get more than you , then *** you and here's to me !!

Last year it was about $2.50 / ltr - depending when you bought . If you look at the Kugler website you should find a dealer that can give some current pricing .

                            Good suggestions Oliver88...

Are you willing to send them in to the CTA transportation review?

                            Thanks for your ideas!

What is stopping the rail Co's from having inter switching agreement now? I have seen BNSF engines the odd time, We see American cars in Canada and we see Canadian cars in the USA.
Is it just free market at work where it becomes too costly, or Corporate greed or what is the issue?

Oliver88's suggestion sounds like open running rights.
Both railways and government tend to deny it, but talk and threat of of open or joint running rights were part of build up to revenue sharing agreement.
Downside to open running rights is how to share operations, maintenance, safety and capital cost.
As well, there is question of property rights and whether they apply equally to farm land.
