We loose a good 5 - 10 days maturity with out some sort of phos in our area. Sucks but its a fact. But if you have not bought phos yet and your phos levels are good I agree cut er, reduce N by 20% and it may be ok.

Let us know how it turns out. Is that american dollars and in bag or bulk. When can they deliver By. We used to be able to skimp phos years back with no effect in our area but not so sure anymore. Can they offer blended product?

Those that are seeing a good response to phos for maturity and yield, what rate? Is 30 lbs of P2O5 still cutting it or have rates climbed to 40 or 50 lbs as N rates have been climbing?

I have just started with higher rates of P, but did not see any response yet. Not sure if it takes a bunch of years to see a noticeable difference. Clay soil with high pH here.

To the original poster that price of $600 seems pretty good. Perhaps buying imported product in the off season, 3/4 of a year ahead is going to be the new norm. Don't like it, but have to start looking at every option to save a dollar.

What is the difference to a farm using an air drill to apply fertilizer between 12-61 and 11-52? Does the 12-61 stay together or turn to dust when handled?

Great. Hey maybe you can get a better deal if you tell them you will have 1000 farmers covering x amount of acres times pounds per acre to look at the product for next year.

Use the fert yourself. One or more pounds for inspection from other farmers. As visible.
