fjlip I think you are somewhat right. However Mr Ritz has undercut the services out there so bad that it will cost us producers more again.
I am referring to the loss of inward inspection. There is no consistency or training in our system today. Do you think one company would trust another to ship into their terminal or accept grain on their behalf without trying to screw the other? Do you think that one company would trust another to grade and handle your grain on their behalf?

We would be paying for third party inspectors on every car at a price that we may not want to pay. Also inspected by people that are picked up off the street for the cheapest possible all highly trained inspectors were let go and not replaced.
Humprey Bannack VP of CFA asked for universal/mandatory training for all elevator staff 2yrs ago it fell on deaf ears once again.

Those with the most to hide have the most secure doors.

Tom do you have any more conspiracy theories for us? Until you understand the problem you cannot provide a solution. Remember Tom the CWB once took the railways to court for lack of grain rail movement. They received a financial settlement as well.

You are experiencing first hand how the free market is working. Your plan and Ritz's marketing choice is returning farmers about 40% to 60% of the port price over the last 2 years. In the past farmers received 90% of the port price

You see Tom the CWB used to regulate the movement of wheat and barley to the west coast and all ports. Since it was all CWB grain a ship could load at all the three Vancouver terminals and the grain movement was mainly efficient and coordinated.

A ship now has to come into a Pioneer terminal at Vancouver up to six times before it gets a load. This is good for the longshoremen (a lot more work) but inefficient and costly for farmers.

Whatever happened to the CWB's eastern rail movement when we had a large crop?

Where is the CWB you said would compete to buy your grain? Where are those grain companies you said would compete?

Tom it seems to me competition is driving down the price. On a recent sale to Iraq Canada had the lowest tender with a price even lower than prices offered by the Ukraine and Soviet Union.

Finally, Tom you could still go on a hunger strike at the CWB to protest this or whatever you are protesting. Remember you did this once before for several days.

I understand Ritz's CWB still operates on one floor of the old CWB building.
Maybe your pals on the board of directors such as Ken Motiuk and Bruce Johnson could help with your accommodations.

You may also want to find out why there is no audited statement from the CWB. I remember your crusade against secrecy at the CWB

Boys, Boys, Boys. As i read this discussion i laugh harder and harder and harder, till the wife hollers "what you laughing at"? Nicolass were the winner, you hit the nail on the head, but no one else on here seems to see that. Well you got your freedom, no more waiting for money for a year, no more being told were you can haul, and yes pars no more buy backs. Forgot one thing did you not? Who the hell is going to organize all this flow of movement? You need ONE strong voice for that, and you lost it. I have always said CWB needed a shaking, but not so hard it was dismantled. Some of you on here remind me of a high school girl who wanted her freedom, so she ****ed her brains out till, OH OH now what do I do!

If the chaos at the terminals is accurate, guess why we are so screwed on basis... way more costs and demurrage. Laughable, if it was not costing us billions. Where are the statesmen/women?

Ever bin in one lakenheath? First they offer you a scarf for your head... specially if yer a baldy like me... Then if you jeans are a little faded like my buddies were. They might remind you that there is always food downstairs for anyone who walks in the door like they did for us.

The chanting and yowling was all translated into English on the big screen behind the dude doing the yowling and was more focused on love and compassion than the last sermon I heard at a Catholic church where the threat of sinning sounded a little like I might end up in a burnin ring of fire.

Go on in a try one some time boys and girls, I guarantee you will come out with your head on.

So how many chances do you get before the beheading? I see it now after three times someone flips out and brings out the big knife done. Then the church goes on the chant. I guess I dont see the point in going in the first place. Do they speak only english in some mosks or are you set for life to have translation? Whats the point.

Well Captain Bligh, your dogma that we, no matter circumstance or region, were all equal and mandated equal delivery rights and price. Once the farmer caliphate was in charge the mantra that anyone from the districts who disagreed was uneducated and unenlightened. Your allegiance to the status quo and the animosity to anything that did not have CCF bloodlines. While you smugly enforced your vision of the world sitting on your ass, crops, varieties, markets, and transportation all changed, tried to, or atrophied and died. Does it matter if your half right or half wrong especially when no cares or is listening anymore? Take a map of North America and overlay all rail lines. Your not to blame but your part of the problem. Your mention of percentage of support is sad. You, are the definition of anachronism. Except you probably arent eating beet soup like your anscestors and your kids have more choice than anywhere else in the world. Do you have any constructive ideas to sustainably bring us all forward as an industry? Do you see your kids living exactly as you, a dynasty perhaps? Your "like the smoke from that torpedo; just up and fade away."
