This was last spring in Calgary when the legislation was announced. Rome was not built in a day... neither can railway policy be reformed easily. We all know this. Thanks

Just throwing this out there. Are you clear what you want to accomplish before you start?

Have you considered hiring the same media PR firm that the the first nations people and occupy groups use? They are effective.

Will grain commissions get behind you to fund it? Farmer donations, crop input companies, grain elevators, rail shippers assoc, etc.

Are you willing to risk the health issues if you actually do a hunger strike (unlike the fake perception based ones of certain first nations leaders)?

It takes a lot of money, otherwise it truly is a weight loss program and damaging to your health, and the trains will be exactly the same.

I need to do more research but it looks like Warren Buffet bought into Bill Gates Foundation... which looks like owns the CN shares. Thus a connection between BNSF and CN.

          Hey Tom

It took less than 24 hours to threaten back to work legislation. And over 6 months to issue an order in council.

Do you see that someone is blowing smoke?

If this government can force 4500 workers back to work then they could force 2 ceos (hunter and mongeau) to move grain.

It is that simple. Your MPs don't give a shit about you or any farmer for that matter.

Unfortunately you have been bending over so long you have become used to the position . The only way anything will change is through political will. The Railways are so well entrenched in Ottawa that there is probably no way any of the parties will oppose them. Agriculture has no effective voice. Any power we did have vanished with the marketing freedom movement. You are one of the people responsible and now you are complaining, well bend over.

Tweety, I am clear. I have a week ago asked for CN and CP to remove the $423,000 writ of Execution that has been placed upon our farm. I as well need a commitment that they will increase service to our elevators in western Canada... within the existing profitable structure which guaranties a fair profit. Thanks

                Tom 4cwb

                You stated

"Why Billionaire Bill Gates Owns Canadian National Railway Company

This is capitalism and the free market at it's finest. You have strongly supported this on Agriville on many occasions Tom. You can't talk through two sides of your mouth.

I do recall Bucket on several occasions last year having this disscusion with you Tom. What he is saying is very accurate.

Thanks Agstar77. That was enlightening. Better to have tried and failed... than to not have tried at all.

Your trying has just pushed every western Canadian farmer deeper in debt.

                        Court of Queen's Bench Alberta
                        2012 ABQB 652
                        Date: 20121023
                        Docket: 1001 05744

Bucket note the date, 2013's dismal performance isn't even pertinent here(very important issue though).

The case was argued over excess charges due to over charging for rolling stock(grain car) maintenance.

Bucket, you said a mouthful about listening to other people's opinions. Thank you!!!!!!

                          Agstar77,

And doing nothing... what does this accomplish? As we are all losing billions in any event by doing nothing... it is hard to understand how that might be a helpful solution?

                            Farmaholic;

Correct case. We did not achieve a class action status. Told we were out of time... and common-law did not apply... and that we should have gone sooner... even though the class action legislation did not exist in Alberta then. Thanks.

There is a solution. The threat of open running rights would shake up the RR's but I don't see any political party with the Balls to do it. I really don't see why you are so concerned after all your battles to truck grain across the border, well nothing is stopping you now.
