Not defending the railroads as I dislike their act as well. This year's issues are systemwide though. US port strike causing products to be routed through vancouver, boats arriving out of order causing products to be out of position, Richardson is undergoing a 80000 tonne expansion which is causing some bottlenecks, rainy vancouver earlier on causing loading disruptions. Railways are definitely not performing but the whole systems a mess this year.

mc farms. Not all farms have had good fortune. Be careful how you word stuff, as it looks kind of careless to me. Just saying.
And some areas are far worse for rail movement than others. Why should one expect to cash flow 5 months with prior crop cash, while they wait for cars?

Saw yesterday canola
price delivered May to Yorkton of $10.64
After last year, grower might know risks of waiting for spot price and immediate delivery.
Started last week on March delivery contract, think others delivering also had forward contracts.
That said, would like to see graincos take a more forward looking view on value of railway surge capacity.
Just asking governments to regulate or force movement is not the solution.

Last Grain Statistics Weekly showed Primary elevators were at 53.4 percent of licensed capacity across the prairies.
So there is room in some areas.
If some areas are plugged and behind on shipments it must indicate that there is cherry picking going on.
Is the elevator that is putting off deliveries truly plugged up or are they just not bringing it in because they don't know when or what will be moving when the cars finally do get spotted?

I'm gonna have to start picking bottles here!! Bank account empty and loc maxed out!
I think we need to organize a convoy of loaded trucks, pick a line company that each farmer present has outstanding contracts with, then call ctv to come watch a couple hundred loads of grain get spread in an elevators yard!!
These pricks need to learn accountability!! I don't f**king care about the railroad. I sold the grain to the line company, if the railway doesn't move it for them that is their problem. Start piling it on the ground and charge the railway for the added cost!
The time for being patient and reasonable is over! These assholes need to be taught a lesson!
