Free wheat. It's not really sarcasm. What I said in my response was the general tone to most threads. Your saying that everything is always a joke or sarcasm?

      Maybe you missed this symbol?

That denotes a wink. As in jesting. As in I am teasing.

vvalk, I am a funny guy. People think I am a funny guy. So for me, yes, lots of what I say is rooted in humor.

The truth is, I have neighbors who sit at the rink a lot. That is just fine. But when they put on airs that they are busy and work hard, it is just too much, so I jest at their expense.

Yes, some of them do work hard.

I agree with you though, that working hard is not the be all.

Free wheat You seam, as do many posted who post here, that these big farms that run new expensive equip and take holidays are not stupid. Some of these farms make more money In one year then you will in a lifetime. I am sick of listening to people make shots of these types of farms all the time. How many times have people taken serious ( not sarcastic) shots at SF3 because he goes to Hawaii or wherever. If that isnt pathetic or jealousy not sure what is.

One last thing. I am not jealous either of those who go to Mexico or some warm clime for a bit each winter. Honestly, those places hold zero interest for me personally. I have other place I would far rather go. I recognize that some of those folks that DO go to tropical destinations probably simply fail to understand that I would rather go out in the cold and feed animals, than go to some warm place and kick up my heals.

My point is, construing that as jealousy, drives me CRAZY. I do apologize, if it comes across as jealousy. I really don't have any.

Now if folks were going to Scotland, the Pennines, Israel, Norway, Iceland, Bavaria, or Ireland... Well then I would be jealous!

Vvalk, I DO get your point in a lot of ways. Some may be jealous, I dunno. I am simply saying I am not I guess.

I try my best not to take shots at SF3. I agree, sometimes shots are taken, I get that...

Often though, I take shots when discussing costs, for example. The other day we were chatting about new iron or older iron. Using real numbers on my farm, I got accused that it was impossible to have a 50 cent an acre tractor cost for a year. Well, call me lucky, but that was my cost last year. Maybe next year it will be 10 bucks, I don't know.

                The accusations go both ways...

I know, but I have talked with lots of guys who think like me, and for the most part, we are about as jealous of the fence post in my pasture. We just aren't. In talking with others, the accusation of jealousy, is usually discussed in the same way: When we are accused of jealousy by the wealthy, the lucky, or the arrogant, it is generally agreed that these people are the ones looking for justification, and simply have no understanding of folks like us, who are simply not jealous.

In fact, it is often the case where the jealousy accusers are the types who are in it for assets, money, or size. Often, not always.
