      Tweety, is that the answer to the problem? If I was willing to pay more freight I wouldn't have movement issues? Like I have a choice , In this marketing environment the movement date is first priority and price is second in line, were over a barrell here. I'm still sitting on 700 ton of 2013 malt that is at a decent price but not gone yet.
      Even tho both parties agreed to the contract I should accept a lower price to insure movement?

        Basically since I came back it seems things haven't improved the guys in the back at the elevator just cant believe what's happening with service. The guys up front are telling everyone don't worry it will eventually work out.
        Again Ritz is dropping the ball, not sure who is advising him on this file but rail service is piss poor again and Lots of hurt with the march 15th deadline.
        Its not like last year because the crop wasn't as big. ITs like last year because the system wasn't fixed.
        Who ever said 90% yes their is hurt because grades are all over the map. Yields all over the map. Sooner or later this shit show is going to come to a head. Me thinks its real soon.

          Maybe farmers should first get what was promised when they did branchline abandonment and tearing out the wooden elevators.

          It seems we were promised better movement and a more efficient overall grain handling system.

          Hasn't happened yet.

          Then there was the crow payment. There were promises made about eliminating that system as well.

          Look I don't want to go back but to move to commercial rates isn't going to eliminate the problems of grain movement in western canada.

          And for those that think it will, there is a commercialized system in the states that got ****ed up as well.

          Only difference is the US government thru the STB told the railways to get their shit together and they did.

          The government here needs to be involved with a stick. Instead of being a lapdog to the railways.

            Think the question was , is there any grain movement anywhere and I said yes. I know there are problems with grain movement but here is decent , and I said the whining is on every subject that comes on here, ex-the topic of what is the good things about Alberta and right away your leader lead off with pesstimisson about Alberta taxes , one example .

                Klause, your talking red river valley, that's a different world down there, very prosperous, you could well be right on what they are doing with their grain. Wheat is a minor crop in the area you speak of, lots of specialty crops ( highest heat units in the province ) i thought we were talking wheat movement. Great mennonite work ethic.

                  Glad some one has excellent grain movement.
                  Oh wait if all I had to deliver was one bag of HRS that I contracted last fall for Feb March movement. Wow I guess yesterdays train was working just fine for me. But my question to all who think our rail and elevators are working. What about the 40 or so trucks waiting in line to deliver yesterday. First train in a month. Ah They all must have one bag also. HA HA HA HA HA HA
                  Look at the big picture. Movement of grain is the shits again and this years crop was smaller than last years.
                  Ah farming where some things never change.
                  One good drought might change the grain handling system.

                    No SF3, a drought will just mask the problems and nothing will get "fixed".

                    I understand people have different quantities of grain to move.....

                      My point is Gov. learnt how to handle farming things from the great Lyle Vancleaf. study and hope the problem goes away.
                      All I'm getting at is their hoping its a smaller crop and grain movement gets back to normal by the time all the studies run their course. Just in time for election.
                      Study study and more study.
                      Ah Canada where after a 100 and some years we still cant figure out this shit.

                        40 trucks in a line is 20 railcars. Sounds like they are loading direct using trucks as their 1 HR temporary storage.

                        When shit like this happens it shows the deficiencies in the whole system.

                        Then the train will sit there for 3 days.
