Well said. Now tell your MP that.

Doubt you get a call about your concerns.

Funny how they listened when they were in opposition and said they would fix it once in power. Now they make excuses.

I know when talking to my MP's office folks... there is no question that grain farmers have lit up the phones and sent messages about bad shipping.

As the election is being called Oct 15 2015... there is a short time to pass legislation. However the opportunity to get some good ideas on the legislative table... and provide CN and CP with choices... they know they are an essential service and utility... and what is coming. I know for sure the railways don't have my MP in their back pocket, I doubt your theory about other Conservative MP's is correct.

We will see. And shortly. CN/CP are not fans and give NO MONEY corporately, I know this for a fact. This is the LAW in Canada. And PM Harper made sure it was enacted.

David Bowie's "Space Oddity" lyrics sums you up prefectly Tom. Nothing more needs to be said.

                forage,

I suppose you are a cattle grower... and WHEN we get grain export logistics working better... this will make feed more expensive for your farm.

Is this what your constant negative attack on me is rea l l y about?

Tom, it's a great song you should be flattered I made reference of it towards you. The lyrics apply wonderfully.

Tom you haven't eaten in five days.We all know your going to say crazy things, your little tummy is getting very hunger.

Ah, the old "self interest" jab.

I remember it well from the old CWB debate days when it was often thrown at me. According to Tom, being a cattle guy my only interest was in keeping grain prices low. I insisted that this wasn't the case as:
A: I don't feed grain and B: my concern was for grain growers post CWB.
I could see the value in an entity that collectively marketed grain for producers, maintained an international reputation for high quality Canadian wheat and reliable delivery of said product through wielding some power over railways and grain companies.
Tom thought he knew better though but now he doesn't like the results of his actions. Time to find someone else to blame - again.

                      Tom

The 1997 issues that hermanson is on record in the house of Commons produced 4 studies that didn't change a ****ing thing.

Your MP has been in Ottawa for probably a decade just like david anderson.

If they were doing something 2014 wouldn't have happened and been repeated in 2015.

They are lap dogs for the railways.

Ideas have been sent to mps either by a quick call or email. They don't act.

It's not up to farmers to make the legislation that's what mps are for.

And they have sitting on their thumbs for far too long other than to say they enjoy it.

I talked to the Ottawa office on Thursday and no return call yet, although the lady answering the phone appreciated the call.
Not sure if it will help but several thousand individual phone calls might get more results than lobbying from our farmer groups.

Well things might improve soon. Derailments and oil spills are happening almost daily. Another Blow Up near a large center might slow the flow. Could free up resource for other commodities.
