Can anyone refresh my memory with the dollar value that come from last years poor railway performance? I can't remember the figure.
If anyone does get to talk to one of our elected officials it would be good to point out this was real dollars lost , this years losses have yet to be determined.

I should know better than to do this but I have to ask bucket where he got the information that suggested the railways are handling less grain than last year. That would not be what the CGC grain statistics weekly would indicate.

        Week 30.

Total deliveries to the CGC licensed grain handling system - 30 MMT versus 27.9 MMT last year. I have not gone back to previous years but I suspect a record volume of deliveries to this point.

Terminal receipts - 27.8 MMT versus 22.7 MMT last year.

Exports - 23.5 MMT versus 20.8 MMT last year.

As you have your conversations, keep this in mind and know that the person on the other line will be following this.

Volume is perhaps not the only performance measure that should be followed. As has been highlighted on here many times, better communication, and contract fulfillment should also be measured.

          Charliep

Benchmarking against last year. Brilliant why not go back to 1997.

          The system is ****ed.

Nice winter and all and it's still failing.

Keep whispering to whoever that it's ok.

Never mind the production levels we are at.

These are what are known as quotas. 60 mmt produced but only 35 mmt moved.

Beat me to it bucket.I was just thinking how many of those tonnes were produced last year and moved this christmas.
We have guys who ordered there producer cars in the fall of 13 just get those cars at christmas. Absolutely pathetic. Hard to cash flow things when u have companies like this that dont care or have a reason to be accountable. Almost makes me think that the 18 month delay in payment from the CWB was reliable.

I tell every political party phoning for money I'm mad about rail movement and they aren't getting any of my money because of that. Funny though I don't donate like that except maybe buying a party membership.
