    Hopalong,

Came back from Calgary... yesterday... the potash unit trains are clearly moving... Potash hopper cars are very easy to spot in these plentiful Unit trains

      OK SF3,

How do you want me to push harder?

The rr have $423,000 writ of execution against my farm land... because I believed (Apparently in error) that these RR were bullies and taking money unfairly and in an unjust manner from grain growers in western Canada!!!

I have been on a Hunger Strike for over a week... and no one cares...

our farm is behind deliveries that had been planned months ago... $100's of thousands of $$$ needed to pay bills!

OK... tell me what more a grain grower should do!!!

amy of the bags that were left out around here last spring really had a lot of damage , many were so bad , extractor couldn't be used . lots of loss and re-drying . if you have bin room get them up before spring , if not see if neighbors have bins. the year before wasn't bad , but last year was terrible for losses and damage in bags

Tom your doing your part. Im lost for words what we can do. My posts lately look at the situation and wonder why someone hasn't come forward that's way smarter than all of us and come up with a solution. Or in this country don't we have any one who can figure out this problem.
You cant be a world class producer and exporter of products if you cant get the product to the buyer.
Sort of like buying a beach in Hawaii and having the sand shipped to Saskatchewan by snail mail would take a few years actually a life time.
I don't know just know if we do keep producing record crops the situation will get worse. But one thing if that happens all the farmers that are sitting on their hands and not voicing their opinion will join in as sooner or later all will experience the wonders of contracts and no movement.

            Tom

1.Double the cost of the seed you sell.

            2. Go talk to your buddies at the wcwga. They have ritz's ear. They have been pushing for removal of the cap. How do you think that will play out.

            3. You have poor movement? I thought last year it was ok and the rest of us were blowing smoke about the crisis? Nothing has changed - OIC or not.

            4. Try calling your MP. Dreeshens kid who works in ritz's office can't be bothered to return calls.

It's pretty bad when he people we elect ignore the concerns of their constituents.

I am beginning to hear rumblings that the conservatives are not safe in all ridings. They have really dropped the ball.

Just getting rid of the cwb and letting everything else fall apart may not guarantee them re-election.

You also should realize they are in full election mode and don't give a shit about doing their job.

They are worried about getting elected to ensure their pensions.

I phoned my MP Earl Dreeshen's office monday morning about about my dec. canola contract not being picked up yet. The elevator is on a CN line and they claim they keep having train pistponed or cancelled. Anyway my MP called back monday afternoon much to my surprise. He said the railroads were blaming lack of terminal capacity at port for slow movement. He also said there were other industries complaining of poor service from railroads. I suggested the railroads were providing poor service as a way of trying to eliminate the revenue cap. He agreed that doing that wouldn't improve service just raise our costs. His only solution was that recently passed legislation allows farmers to negotiate storage terms on grain contracts and that I shouldn't sign a grain contract without this. I told the last time I was payed storage was by the CWB. Anyway no real solutions but at least he did call back.

Has anyone been able to negotiate storage with elevator? Like from end of delivery contract month.
If so, was it enough to cover interest on outstanding monthly bills you had contracted to cover?

Funny thing Bucket is correct. Lots of Conservatives that I call guys who joined the party because they wanted a Farmer represented Gov. Ok like Rider fans that jump on a bandwagon when their winning.
Well Lots of these guys are not happy. But then their are die hards like me that are royally pissed. Were the ones that are saying no Check to help with election because their is unfinished shit going on and were not happy.
                  That is the changer.
Lots who always voted will stay home or spoil the ballet or vote one way to cancel the wife's vote etc.
Rural is pissed and it will backfire if action isn't taken soon.
You never forget where you came from, Never.
Because also a true NDP never changes.

                      wm,

Our customers needed and bought our grain... when they did... because they NEEDED the grain.

The end users expect our grain... on time and on quality spec. With bad shipping logistics this is not possible.

So... we take a discounted price... months late... and a few measly $/t can compensate to the depreciation of our product by 10 percent?

Why EXACTLY... are the RR not rebating grain growers that 10 percent... instead they take with impunity... the lack of rail service provided... for granted...and a right in the name of profit for Shareholders!!!

Again it goes back to every one wants the farmers to increase their yields every one. But if we do will it be 2014 all over only worse.
My guess is all of western Canada would get shitty deliveries on contracts then maybe all farmers would realize that their is a problem. Its the old not in my back yard so must be good.

I think I mentioned this before.

Why don't farmer rep groups set up a meeting with all the other industry players, determine their levels of service required and tell the railway what they expect.

And with the backing of the regulator or government. Instead of the railways telling the government what they want.

Think you have converted tom in one year. Remember what he was saying last year.

You have to take the little victories.

                              Bucket,

I was being nice.... AND CANADIAN.... by giving a large portion of good will.

Not wanting a Writ of Execution placed against my land and family... (Court costs had not been assigned then)

What would you have done, had you been in my situation???

With your connections there would have been a long sit down with all parties provincially and federally maybe even municipal.

And it would have ended with a pat on the back.
