I considered not signing as well, Brave. But then I recalled how the Wheat Growers worked hand in hand with organic growers, (somewhat like giraffe and antelope hitched together) as we worked towards a common goal.

Maybe reconsider signing, will you, and whoever is elected, it's necessary to work with them even if you don't trust them. Netanyahu does it everyday. Pars

Blacky, Im kinda fun when I get stirred up. Jackson went on his CWB hunger strike in 1996. Bad omen for Hunter Harrison. Look what happened to the CWB. If I were him him, I'd get my wife to sew a Tommy-doll and begin putting pins in it. Pars

vvalk, there were lots of farmers who wined and dined on pooling account money, and got special perks because they sang wheat Board hymns. The organic growers a lot of shared info, which was often revealed marked partisanship.

And don't discount small farmers, many make fine coin. Small can mean lucrative just as much as large can. And small can mean dirt poor, just easily as large bankrupted land barons. Simply acting wealthy doesn't always represent wealth.

As far as I'm concerned, all farmers, big or small landowners or with big or small balls, should be welcomed to have their say on AV. Pars

            Really Errol? You're cheering that?

Please explain how value added processing with long term stable employment is a bad thing for Canada?

              talk about fines. 150,000$
we get fined 1$ a bushel for every one we had on our farms. last year.
              in stolen basis.

you can see why the cwbs maybe less than stellar performance.
is starting to look like the good old days.

the board did not steal $150,000 every year .

it just boggles my mind , when you conservatives create the transportation mess.
and then you bitch about it.

what did you think would happen creating this duopoly in rail transport?
( oh i forgot, you all said full compensatory rates, would fix it)
how did that work out for ya.

get out your grade 12 economics textbook, and look up monopoly.

kinda like what tom wants to do with the seed business.
and then he will wonder when it all goes wrong , again
              amazing. .

there is a word for doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Ya know vvalk, I dont know or care who CO is. I respect his opinion and version of facts. I've dealt before with people who have an altered reality. He likely wouldnt have any standard diagnosis per se. Pig headedness and hypocrisy is not a disorder. Our denial/questions of his reality simply serves to reinforce it. A well worn logic loop if you will. So comfortable for him. Screening at high school may have placed him in a more suitable profession. Forensic accountant, Canada Revenue Agency perhaps.

Oliver, there were times when CWB quotas were so small, it was terribly difficult to make 'ends meet'. That was what Wheat Board marketing was. Low prices. Poor quotas.

Liberal Minister Otto Lange invented the LIFT program, whereby seeded acres were reduced. PC Minister Alvin Hamilton flew over to China and started selling them wheat in spite of the fact they were communists. Ag Minister Liberal Eugene Whelan cross crossed rural Canada telling farmers that eating beef would make us ferocious. It did.

Brave, my, my, I declare I really couldn't bear seeing you uncomfortable. Twitch, scratch, wiggle. Pars.

Sawfly, would it be possible to hold your nose the next time you sneeze? It might expand your horizons.
The constipation that is costing us $1 has happened before in secret. One symptom of a long chronic illness. Infecting all parties over decades.
I see many positive changes with many more to come. Without party partisanship I hope.

if you wish to send a message to two of the railways:

                      1. Go to your Twitter account and use the #MoveMyGrain hashtag with your tweet:

                      @CanadianPacific @shipCN

                      2. Post on Facebook page:

That's it folks. I've tried to help a bit with transportation even though organics uses mainly producer cars or containers or semis. pars.

In 1987, we bought 10,000 bus. of certified seed Durum and hauled it over the line. It was legal, but still we were threatened at customs though they never stopped us from selling every bushel. Guess we could have been rattling the bars.

Pars. My point was that if he didn't carry over grain one option was that he only had the minimum you could deliver per permit book which if I remember correctly was 40 tonnes. And yes I believe that if your that small there is no need to be spouting off about the cwb when in no way is farming your livelihood. I don't go into others people's professions and tell them how they should run their business's

                            black powder
are you saying it is different this time?
                            How?
                            looks even worse to me.

liberals and conservatives in govt. forever and neither has had a strategic
                            transportation plan .

don't you think that if there was a war, we would find a way to fill ships quickly at port, and if getting them on their way was crucial to the nations future.
we would just get it done.

at least the board organized that before.

now we have private interests who do not give a rats ass, because they just pass the costs back to the farmers.

                            govt. does nothing.

when railroad power is now so great.
lawyers, lobbyists, basically acting kinda like the mob.

even to the point of eating their own young ,like Tom .
( whom i am sure was all for , selling off CN and full compensatory rates)
and to be honest i too thought full rates would cure it too.(fool)

now with (over billing 100s of millions on car maintenance)

(cutting service while making record profits, in an attempt to extort more.)

                            govt. does nothing.

between the lib.s and con.s selling off CN , you conservatives and liberals made this mess,
and made it a lot harder to , if not impossible to fix now.

between that and Mulroney giving away our sovereignty in the FTA.
( our ability to do anything about it.)

here is a tip conservatives .
(i know you were not great in economics class)

creating all powerful private monopolies, does not end well for the people having to live with them.

                            here is another one.

                            Contrary to what Harper says.
there is no way of coming to a "market solution" with a monopoly.
( Harper, must live in smurf land, or go to the same church as Tom)

sure tell the guy with a gun to your head that you only want to give him 1/2 your money.

and after he robs you, you can not even run him out of town.
because he has bought protection from Mulroney under the FTA

i am not against capitalism, but conservatives in this land have forgotten it has to have checks and balances.

and contrary to Mr. Harper , govt.s actually do have a role to play . ( or why bother to elect them)

and poor tom, being nailed to the cross by the same powers he helped create.
                            and yet he still believes.
                            man that takes faith.
                            or something.

either way, the whole mess it is not about political stripe, it is about us farmers living in la la land , and not taking care of business. ( BTO )

the rrs and grain co.s are just doing their job. we have not done ours.

any way, with the world debt crisis , and everything else that can happen, it all, may not matter anyway.

enjoy the spring weather, watch the water run, listen to a meadowlark,
love your children and grand children , they can not steal that.
