Maybe they need to start taxing all resource producers even farmers 15 percent to the state. Maybe if they tax oil high enough they can drive some companies into the ground lose taxes on those jobs and that oil production.

How he thinks he can hold the line on healthcare spending is laughable

We literally give out oil away. We could be norway, but no, poor oil companies will go broke.

What a crock of shit cotton. From obscene profits to really really excellent is the difference.

Most socialists always throw the Norway example into a guys face when discussing this stuff, and always ignore the other examples.

How well would our state oil company have done in the lean times with profits spread across the nation?

You either believe in private enterprise or you dont.

Norway was one extreme...but a quick read, not a thorough read, had most countries above Canada.....
Still believe in free enterprise, but we have to keep corporate bullying and nepotism at bay as well.....the reason Stelmack couldn't raise royalties after Klein.

Alberta having a low royalty rate is one thing but it was revealed in Stelmach's time that some of the companies weren't even paying the royalties they owed. The Government was so sloppy or incompetent they weren't even going after this money.

What do you want in describing property rights?

Your cattle?or the ground they graze on?

The ground oil is under and taxed to the sky under t Douglas (i think)

What is yours and what does the state deserve?

My better half joined in on the event.

Point of interest for you hawks to think about...

Alberta has Donated $150B to Canadian transfer payments in the last 10 years.

If this were Norway... over the past 50 years with no transfer payments to eastern Canada... imagine how much wealth could have been socked away.
