I could see him having problems with rail shipping south. Nabors is usually alittle higher price than these other greedy guys. According to Ritz there is no problem with rail.

I urge caution, my AV friends. In this case all factors should be put into perspective. as I understand it we have a late remittance of $500. When the Canary board was initiated, I wondered about breach of confidence when exporters have to give their full sales information to some loose organization that could be accessed by your competitor. I can't speak for Todd, but I can tell you how I feel. Mr. Hobbs, you are a major Canary exporter and Todd's competitor. There should be serious questions asked here?

Yes, as mentioned in the press release, the amount is small. Mr. Naber has delivered payment to the company and we are removing the notice from the Canary Assn website.
First of all, growers allow associations to deduct levies from their product based on the assumption that the buyer will submit the levy to the association in question, and without delay. It is imperative that, no matter how large or small the dollar amount is, that the buyer submits the funds promptly and cooperatively. I believe this is a critical component of a grower levy. Companies have to operate their company in a manner that is prudent and professional. When companies do not manage their business properly, their is ramifications. See press release.
Second, companies do not submit their sales details to the associations. They submit details of their purchases from growers. These details are not released to directors of the corporation.
Third, I sit on the association as a grower not a trader.
Fourth, I am Chair and only break a tie board vote. This release was a decision by the board of the organization.
Fifth, I have never been in a competitive situation with Naber Specialty Products. We live in vastly different regions of the province and our business is very local to Kindersley area and Regina. Get out a map. Cost to move product from NE Sask is more money then I obtain from the market to clean and trade the product.
Six, If you think I am out of step call my cell. It is on the press release.

I stand to be corrected, it is grower information in this case and sales information to the CGC. Competitors on the boards like this one. I wonder if CN gives CP their marketing information. . It's the principle for me, more than anything, but I agree with Bucket, too much bureaucracy-more levies all wanting information, then open to conflict and infringement on privacy.

Just to stir a little more.
My issues are with why more of this repeats. I thought whole mess with defaults would be solved with these commissions.
Are they not to take care of farmers issues.
Funny though once the commission got paid the problem is solved. No mention of slow payments to the farmers as indicated in the release. Huh?

I wish commissions would send a bill direct to farmers to let them decide if they want to pay for these things.
So you are saying nabors is in good standing now.
It deserves the same respect as your original release. Otherwise it's just a petty thing to run some bad press on him.
I will bet he appreciated it.

With computer systems it is next to no work. Takes 10 mins a month tops to submit a levy.
Processors know that varietal development and agronomist research expands markets and opportunity for the entire chain. We wouldn't have 3 million acres of red lentils in 2015 using crimson variety from USA.

You mean there was no late payments to farmers? Screw these *** boards and commissions. I bet nabors knows what the real price of canary seed is and therefore offers a bit more which is probably a shitload short of the real price as well. Bet if he offered the real price the commission would be all over him for who knows what.
I agree with the above send the bill to farmers for check offs. If they want to pay it they will if not they win t.
Hahaha so we re talking about a few hundred dlars to the canary commission? Wow
The other issue is that there ought to be a protective service to farmers for lack of payment on all commodities instead of a commission check off put that money towards something like that.

Your subject heading should have been canary seed Leveys not paid. The way it was listed and your comments In the original thread it implies farmers weren t getting paid.
Maybe as part if the commission instead of warning us about stuff we all know maybe spend some of that check off and work towards making canary seed a guaranteed paid commodity.

No, press release stated that we have seen late payments to growers. He has recently stated that there are no issues. Which seems like an expected comment to me. Read between the bloody lines dude.
I am not sure why you dont start trading canary if it is so lucrative. Canaryseed market is so slow right now it is unreal. Mexican peso and EU's euro devaluation has created a situation where old sales are being reneged on and new sales are a snails pace. Almost zero new crop program is in place. Great time for you to cut your teeth
