    Glabrous, or hairy canary?

    Keet. Or Bastia?

Grown both. Bastia yielded better for me. Keet is supposed to yield better for me.

What should I do, what should I do?

They do not care. Good question though. I did have one buyer say they were going to phase out the hairy stuff, because it is an asbestos like health hazard.

Honestly, neither! lol. Where it grows well, it goes pretty flat either way. I do think the bastia does not go AS flat maybe.

Keet is supposed to yield 25% more, but I have my doubts on that after growing each more than once. I had good luck with bastia. Just started this thread to kind of help make up my mind.

Just noticed keet is three days later, which can certainly matter here.

There is about a 10% drag on yield with Bastia over Keet. I still grow Bastia. Bird food market doesn't care (which is 99% of the demand) but there are a few food grade users in southern USA or Mexico that are looking for glabrous and will pay a premium for it. Extremely limited demand though.

New canary varieties will continue to close the yield gap on Keet. If I had Keet I probably would grow it over Bastia.
