Wheat growers say let the market sort it out. Main lines are getting service, branch lines no go.
Maybe areas will see service now that the order is done.
Sorry not going to happen . Railways win every time.
    Railways don't care.
Time will tell but last year cost farmers billions and all the studies in the world won't bring that money back to farmers.

Terrorists you bomb until you realize you can't win. Minimum 10 years of wasting money.

Powerful monopolies like the railways you nationalize.

      I might vote ndp.

****ing signing contracts for September delivery and delivering in march isn't cutting it for my farm. And a current mp that has his head so far up his or someone else's ass is failing this constituency.

Well they are right about the system being back to normal. Fact is that it has never worked well in Canada so it is back to normal. I do agree that the rails should be public as they are a natural monopoly and they need to be managed for all western Canadians not just a CN/CP shareholders.

SF3, when did the Wheat Growers say that? They're part of Grain Growers of Canada which is calling for reform.

You've fallen so deep into your Debbie Downer abyss you can't see what's going on. Ah, you don't get it.

What surprises me more than anything is that shareholders could be earning so much more by investing and handling more freight?

Sooo...just because...should railroads have been privatized?
Not trying to be way left here, but would these railroads have better served the country by being owned by us....
The biggest thing has always been the bureaucracy, but could we have solved that another way.
Its only been since 1995....and I know here in Alberta privatizing the power sector has certainly made electricity a costly venture.

Why the hell do we label ourselves and others left if we suggest a public/crown service provider? Certain conditions exist that make the idea valid. Would someone in remote sask have basic utilities if it wasn't for some crown providers? Put the damned ideology aside and let logic and common sense prevail for a change.
