    Autosteer Advice??

Looking to upgrade from our ancient Outback S2 to something a little more accurate. Either a JD 1800 or 2600/2630 with the ATU or the Outback STX as combine and 4wd tractor are plumbed for Outback. Would go for Omnistar or SF2 if WASS and our new-to-us Smart Hitch don't work out.

Any thoughts? Haven't priced anything out yet as other work has taken higher priority.

Autosteer will be almost worthless ln some of our land this spring. No advice...we run Raven.

I would stick to Outback if you're used to it. Upgrading to Ominstar is well worth it imo. I use omnistar with my trimble gear and it is so nice to not have to shift your line or worry about drift.

Don't know if you'll need to go base station or rtk for the smart hitch equipment. We aren't there yet. 😬

Just got rid of the atu. I hated the steering wheel crap.

Really like the hydraulic plumbed ones by deere. Smoother. Easier to disengage.

Yes these are the things that make me spoiled but I too rarely use them with the sloughs I have.

The neighbors JD SF1 always seems straighter with less misses than my S3, edrive X, oministar A220. Which is better than the Raven in the case sprayer with omnistar. Omnistar is a bunch of dinks though and won't let you switch the subscription to a different antenna for spraying or harvest. If you have more than one machine you want correction for I would seriously consider RTK.

If you go the JD route make sure you get the touch screen and not the one with the thumb wheel. I cheaped out and regret it.

Had JD ATU since 2007, works great. Thousands cheaper and I move it to a second tractor for spraying and M150 windrower. Can go to combine also, but do not straight cut.
Had a 2600 with ATU and upgraded to 2630 with ATU 200. Think it was worth it. Deere annual software updates have fine tuned the resumes and wheel movements. Very smooth and quiet now. Tweaking settings and it's arrow straight, repeats next day or days later to same line. Costs way more so be warned.

Between my brother and I, we have pretty much all of the gps's out there. JD 2600, Pro 700, Trimble 500,750, Cultiva, Outback S3, Raven envizio and Viper Pro.

Most came with equipment when we bought them.

IMO I would say the John Deere and Outback are the most accurate and easiest to run. If your equipment is plumbed for Outback already that is the way I would go. John Deere is just too expensive.

Lep how would you rate the Raven, see it listed on a few sprayers?
