The neat thing is the modular building block design.... Most dealer stock full parts for all models because they are identical...


My biggest complaints were thr ball bearing pto setup the front drop axles and the fact the cab had no ac... The new ones seal up nice have a sturdy front axle good danfoss hydraulics and a bolt in pto system.


Kinda neat too... you can run the pto in either 540 or 1000 with either stub shaft... economy pto

The PTO has more neat tricks:
1) Besides 540 and 1000 it has a 3rd mode: ground speed. Useful for seeding, manure or salt spreading and other applications.

2) PTO Box can be disconnected altogether through a lever in a cab, if you do not need it. Gives you more hp, and keeping it in a new like condition.

Very Simple. If you want to save money on buying a tractor there are two steps.

1)Price a new POS Brand like MTZ

2)Go buy good JD, case or similar used for the same money as the new MTZ.


you will be much happier in the long run and it will still be worth more than scrap price when you go to sell.

Can't speak to MTZ tractors but had a Zetor once in the 80's which inclines me to agree with bgmb.

However I'm not convinced the newer JDs for example will stand the test of time like the oldies do. All the computers and advanced electronics to go wrong and being assembled in Mexico or where ever I doubt they have the quality control of the German built 1980/90 models.
If this proves to be true these expensive to buy, expensive to maintain tractors might force people to look at cheaper, simpler makes again particularly if you don't put huge hours on a tractor.

Ya, and JD had some real mechanical gems in their 4WD line and track tractors...

We have a 5180.... bought it new in 1995. 8,000 hours later it still runs and works with minimal leaks...


Fed cows cut hay baled hay sprayed planted beans....


Can't say I'm impressed with the Allied loader on it though.


A belarus will start at -30 without being plugged in and go.

Can't say that about any new powershift/cvt unit.

As they say "the proof of the pudding is in the eating"
- Over 50,0000 Belarus tractors were sold in USA and Canada.
- Last year Belarus produced over 62,000 MTZ tractors, that's more than JD and CASE IH combined. Over 30% sold for exports.

I doubt there are so many idiots in the world. So the continuous sales sucess confirm that the tractor has it's place in the market.

Putin/MTZ does not have a monopoly like CNCP has... on rail freight servicing western Canadian grain growers! Day 33 Hunger Strike... feeling like a junk yard tomcat who just drank antifreeze!

I looked at your website and it was interesting. I remember from the Zetor tractor good fuel economy, would burn even dirty fuel that choked other tractors, never trouble starting (had an engine decompression button) and the handy air compressor.
Looking at one of the videos and saw Crystal written on the hood of a MTZ - they aren't connected with the old Zetor Crystals are they?

And how do they compete price wise and performance wise with the new wave of Asian tractors coming in - TS etc?

To answer some questions:
MTZ tractors are made in Belarus - independent country between Poland, Ukraine and Russia. No relation to Pres Putin...

No direct relation to Zetor Crystal. We do share some components with Zetors, like the fuel pump.

Tier 3 mechanical engine will start better than most Tier 4, and is also cheaper, and more reliable, especial with dirty fuel.

Most Asian tractors are coming up to 90 hp. Belarus made MTZ tractors sold in USA Canada are 80-350 hp. So there is little direct comparison.

As a reference:
MTZ 920, 85 hp, 9600 lb weight, 8,900 lb 3 point hitch. List 43,750 $ US

LS P7030, 88hp, 6,700 lb weight, 6,200 lb 3 point hitch capacity. List around 50,000$ US

Kioti DK 90, 91 hp, 8,600 lb weight, 4,850 lb 3 pt hitch, list around 60,000 $ US.

As you see, we offer 20-40% "more" tractor, for much less money.
Asians offer more refine cabins and more electronic toys.

There is a market for every brand, our machines are used as heavy duty work horses, by farmers who do not need the extra electronic toys.
