    Statistics Canada Seeding Intentions Report

For those that are interested, today's statcan seeding intentions report. Nothing surprising that I can see except less that expected increases in some of the pulses and flax. Seeding intentions so things can/will change.

      Good to see your back!
Ok I still think canola will be down still 600 to 18.9
Peas and lentils and flax are low and again when you do a report that long ago things change. Also guys are dropping oats out this way. It will swing with the weather.
      Have a great day.

For what it is worth (based on simple back of envelope calculations), this years canola crop would appear to be about 15 MMT (average yields times intentions). The disappearance side in recent years has been about 16 MMT. Disappearance numbers will firm up even more with Camrose/Cargill crusher coming on board. If you believe these numbers, the Canadian canola supply demand will be relatively tight in the 2015/16.

Not a canola bull on prices. I would comment that agronomics/good rotations should trump markets on canola seeding decisions.
