Have a 98 9300 Deere, possibly their best engine before all the EPA mandated crap. Start cold in the shed and there is NO smoke, rarely any working. Fuel consumption is great. But the engine is killing the planet with emissions, what a load of sh*t, just make them burn more, recirculate exhaust gases with complex power choking add ons, and now add fertilizer to clean up the emissions. Industry happy, oil companies happy, we pay for all of it!

oh ya, as far as efficient the Nebraska record holder is the LOW tech Deere 70 diesel from 1955. Gone backward since I guess.

Klause- I just added $1000 worth of Belarus parts to a 10,000 hr JD - wonder what it did to resale value?

Rather simple why are JD 4020s still being used on Canadian and American farms every day. they were built in the 60s with hours and hours on them.
Their is your answer. How many 930 case or IH are still working in comparison. And Belarus well most are ipsco pipe.

Kramers sale at Alvena Sk yesterday brought decent value for two 876 Versatiles.
                      1990 with 5700 hours, $57,000
                      1989 with 4800 hours, $56,000

The 4640, 4440 JD's seemed to go high enough as well.
