dentity preserved grain fails to attract buyers

Bredin said the problem with identify preservation programs is that they interrupt a grain handling and transportation system de-signed to move bulk commodities.

Canada is built on high volume low price commodity production and export. Nobody likes high prices, think WalMart. High efficiency provides low low prices .

The only problem here is the only highly efficient folk in our supply chain are the farmers in Canada.

News Flash, we've never been paid more than the market price for our grain once it's left Canada. Even the single desk seller was only one of many sellers in the world.

The costs of getting grain to market have varied, and having transportation monopolies inbetween us and those markets has been very detrimental to our getting our full share of the value of our products, especially at times when the demand for rail exceeds supply.

Monopolies are reluctant to spend money on increasing capacity, because if they are operating at full capacity all the time, they are
                a) fully utilizing invested capital
                b) able to extract premiums that would be unavailable if there were competitors able to fill market demand for their services.

We've never had, nor will ever have adequate cost competitive rail service while the rail monopolies exist in Canada. Message to Canadian governments: this needs to be fixed ASAP.

Can't do it I'm sunshine, rainbows and unicorns now, hate and anger never really help.

As much as I hate to say it you could make the case for nationalization of the rails. External offshore capital coming into the country is so so so so so so important. Once it hits our banking system and gets levered up........
