    Watrous recreation property

I did a drive around the Manitou lake resort that is near Watrous SK last week. It was the first time I've been there. The thing that was most notable (besides the dikes and flooding) was the number of properties for sale. I bet fully a quarter of the cabins and lots are up for grabs.

Finding a decent place at any other lake in the province is tough, what is going on at this one?

Stop by palliser park. There are a few for sale. And it's fresh water.

It noted that a couple years ago at Watrous and Elbow. I think what happens is that over winter the residents put up for sale signs in case they get a crazy big price. Spring sets in , the signs come down and the residents enjoy their cabin. Next october signs go up again.

Flooding of the shoreline and the fact that the lake is salt water are the biggest drawbacks for people today who are thinking of a place by a lake.
There is a core group that love the place.
Salt water, the Spa, Danceland, good 9 hole golf course, maybe even the Drive-In is a draw.
Number of properties for sale likely shows that there is a fear that there will be a setback in values and many are trying to cash in. Empty lots for 40,000? Too high for sure.

The water is way too high at the Fort QuAppelle Lakes. Does anyone know why the damn is not letting it out? I was told that it is because a bunch of cottages were built way too low at Crooked Lake and the Calling Lakes are paying for it. Any ideas?
