We generally don't "pick" a day, just roll whenever we are ready and mother nature either allows us or pushes us lol.

If all goes well I'm looking at May 11 for start day. May be a little earlier but 7-10 is my average start. Two years ago it was the 17th and was done in time.

Next Monday we can start if it doesn't rain or snow!

Hard to pick a day with so many factors to consider. When I can roll, I roll. If it got warm and stayed warm, maybe next week sometime?

Last time it got warm and stayed warm was about 1963, so who knows?

I walked through some lingering snow on the home quarter this morning. Water still trickling a bit from all the rain.

Wish I had the luxury to pick a day and say I am starting then. For me, I don't know until it is tomorrow!

Will keep an eye on the 6-7 th rain event. May not materialize but will see in the coming days .
If no rain on this Thurs we may roll by this weekend if need be to get some wheat in .

It's bad luck to start a job on Friday. Olde English witchcraft lore.

Drove Naicam-Annaheim-Humboldt today and the fields are water every depression. No way in hell unless for a week of dry warm windy would field work start. Water running every ditch, a lot of rain was told, up to 1.5". Better at Rose Valley.

Here it's horrible luck to start in COLD April or early COLD May. Just too cold.... more carbon emissions needed!
