    This Cant Be Good!

The rain may occur over multiple days and even though this is a week away and may change we wanted to give a heads up over the “potential” for changing conditions so that you might be able to plan ahead. Precipitation between now and early next week is expected to be restricted and temperatures will remain warmer biased (although not as warm as yesterday and today).
Really the wheels are going to fall off this awesome spring.
But some other services are calling for the same rain events. Also May will be the wettest month of the year.
    Shit shit.

Hey cotton , maybe we could charge, say 1/2 of what Drew does ? J/K ..... A close eye on the 10 day weather models has paid off very well before - sometimes you can blink and loose 5-10 days of seeding with poor weather forecasting .
I figured Drews forecast would change soon - let's hope their all wrong . All forecasts are only good for the day they are made but more are lining up together on a cool wet 5-6 day period starting around or after the full moon.
It would be nice to have a nice warm full month of May for a change .
After seeing this forecast a few days ago we are going to fire up at least one drill to get some wheat in maybe even later today. We were going to wait a few more days to let things dry out but *** it .

Major rains even it's in the ground doesn't help this early.

Didn't need any rain until 3rd week in June.

Thanks saskfarmer for the weather update.very good during seeding to have a bit of a clue on what weather may be around the corner.decisions on what crop what land and when all would be easier if we knew exactly the weather for cast. Great thread.

Am I missing something? Going by a forecast a week away, what would you guys suggest I do? I don't get how this helps you to plan well???

To hurry faster on slimy soils? To get it done faster even if not ready? I couldn't seed if I tried, so how does a forecast like this help me "plan better"?

                        What am I missing here?

Well I wish everybody luck. Havent had a dud here since 09 and that was just dry. Potholes are fuller than ever.
Cant change a damn thing. Sometimes I think we pay a weather service just for wishful thinking.

Even the crops seeded before 2010 rains never turned out. Roots water logged plants sick yellow, 17 bu/acre wheat. If it is that wet, the best was NOT to seed, but how do you trust weather forecasts? Take your best guess, we can't start yet anyway.

We are seeding red lentils and 1field of durum. If they make it, we will have some early crop to harvest. We have seeded lentils before in April, once it turned out well, next time not really. It's always a crap shoot. Every year it seems we can get some early crop in before a rain, then stalled for a couple of weeks. Who knows? Wish we had a crystal ball.
