Greatest Sympathies to my Neighboring Province!

I am surprised that Alberta voted in the NDP ! Yes the PC/Wilrose fiasco basically set the stage , but a majority? You folks are in for the ride of your lives. The bad thing is , that in my opinion , the new governing party in your great province is going to cut/slash/burn anything it can , and tax ,tax, and tax whatever it gets its hands on. We got rid of 50 years of that in Saskatchewan , and the Sask. party isn't perfect. At least it's not the NDP.

The next fiasco in the making, federally, will be another Trudeau voted in by people in my age group, the 40-50 years olds , because he is (supposedly) good looking and flambouyant, etc. Wait and see , and hopefully I am wrong , but I doubt it!

Why did it take 50 years if it was that bad....?
In Alberta at least half of the Conservative dynasty was pretty good, started changing in the latter years of Ralph......

Seems to me the ndp platform was better than the competition And realistic. Time will tell. Hope they do well.

      NDP:

Leader Rachel Notley has been campaigning on having the wealthy pay more to fund better health care and education. She’s promising:A Resource Owners Rights Commission to review the royalties oil companies pay to the province.A boost in the corporate tax rate to 12 per cent from 10 per cent. Increase in the minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2018. Current wage is $10.20.More tax brackets for high earners than the Tories are proposing: a 12 per cent rate on income between $125,000 and $150,000; 13 per cent on income between $150,000 and $200,000; 14 per cent between $200,000 and $300,000 and 15 per cent over $300,000. NDP would also roll back the Tory health levy. The creation of 2,000 long-term care spaces over four years.A ban on corporate and union donations to political parties.

          GALAXIE500

You sure can't be happy with the job Harper is doing? 160 billion added to the debt, 750 million on ads, screwing around with Veterans and Veteran affairs, taking photo ops with special forces members putting their lives at risk. Crooked appointed Senators used as campaign puppets. The list can go on and on

Harper should go, he hasn't done the job he said he would do.

GALAXIE500: Stick your sympathies where the sun don't shine. WE elected the party WE wanted and WE know all about the NDP.

The PC party started out pretty good until the carpetbaggers started to take control under Getty's watch. It went from bad to worse under Klein and progressed downward under the next parade of clowns, terminating in Jim Prentice (one of Harper's chimps).

Well we swept the clowns out...hopefully things will get better but there are no guarantees. If the NDP screws up...well whoop-dee-doo, we'll just elect another party. No big deal, that's what democracies do.

Tweety, I think it was more like Saudi Alberta, the ruling class had it their way too much.
I'm not an ND'r but nat resources should belong to the people, not the chosen.
Oh well, governments are like a baby's diapers.

What do you mean? Harper is the Messiah that delivered Primary Ag production to the promised land.
