As to the NDP in Alberta, I can agree that the PC government had long ago gone off the rails and a change was needed. What worries me is that several of the new MLA's have absolutely no experience doing anything let alone managing a province.

I respectfully disagree with the 'Slash/burn/... comment. Alberta is getting EXACTLY the government we deserve. We have a wonderful opposition leader who will balance our politics... this will be much better for our province than a majority PC gov.
If this does not work... it will because the people of Alberta are bankrupt of good ideas... which is certainly NOT the case! We are different here... in many ways... Ms Notley has a great Alberta Heritage and pedigree. She is obviously the choice we picked!
Everything is as it should be... IMHO.
God Bless Alberta!

the same thing happened to the dippers in sask. in the 70's. lot's of internal fights trying to decide what to do with the uranium industry. shut it down, or create jobs.
the environmental wing of the ndp will be putting pressure on the alberta govt to close the "tar sands" to save the planet from climate change. my guess is a big increase in alberta gas taxes to cover carbon. alberta farmers better figure in an increase on their fuel bill over the next four year. it'll be interesting to watch.

Except tom explain to me how the wild rose is better than the conservatives there? They are even more controlled by the oul industry and isn't that what killed the conservatives?
