Should START tomorrow, on my highest and dryest. As usual, we are in the pocket of frozen, wet Disneyland. Pick a field, I can get you stuck 10 places where it was seeded through last year. Area maybe 5% done. And we have hardly had measurable rain, just little re-dampeners here and there: it just won't dry. Highs of 6 and 7 do nothing for anything... A few guys, ( me included), have fields that are borderline whether they get seeded this year. High water table areas just are not drying.

Forecast looks decent. Today is cloudy and miserably cold.

We're about three quarters done canola with a quarter section of soybeans to go. We could have pushed the canola in quicker but, what's the new saying, "canola sown together freezes together"?

It has been cold here. Too cold for soy. Yesterday didn't climb over 8C. Monday might be minus 4!

Grass crop in pastures still slow. Stockpiled spring pasture nice though. It's currently raining but cows are harvesting that stockpiled stuff nicely.

Sounds like a wet maybe stormy weekend. Typical for a long weekend. Our barley seems to be the happiest crop growing right now.

Flax poking through on light land but kinda hoping its stays under this minus 4 they're forecasting for Monday night! Did some burn off in very low temps, so interesting to see how it works. 3 tenths in gauge from this morn, central mb. Off to pack camper........

Only doing 35- 40 ac soy - going into black dirt that's at 12-13c soil temp . Won't break the farm if they don't make it. It's been 13-16 c everyday here , warmer weather coming
