Yes you are correct the crash in grain prices back to the 90s isn't helping! Big having a billionaire or a land company tell you so sorry you didn't have a crop we still need 80 for rent good by you shitty farmer! And another sucker comes to bat!

SF3 - you realize what you are advocating is an extreme form of social engineering. Puts you a little left of the NDP!

Look at the world land not controlled by farmers is short term positive to the sellers and then you become a serf! Ah farming ownership of the land is better controlled by farmers than outside interest!
No it's not being NDP it's a resource that's better in farmers hsnds

So you are recommending a system where potential buyers need to be pre-qualified as meeting the right criteria before they can make an offer on any farm land in Saskatchewan?

Then sell off your land cheap sf3. Not everyone is a big shot like you with 10's of millions of land paid for.

land is a capital asset and a commodity. the only restriction should be a review of foreign buyers. the more open the better.

Potash, Ipsco, oil, Versatile, etc all foreign, why is that okay? If a tractor, combine or sprayer is $500,000, no way land should be less than a depreciating piece of iron. Land is TOO cheap here, cheapest on earth. You would NOT want your net worth to disappear. Yes, it's the value of production that's out of whack. Over half of US land is rented.
Large any thing is not good, empty rural areas is the result. If 40 to 70 is best times, guess a lot of us are nearly done.

Sf3 nothing against you but your dead wrong on this issue and that's OK because that's your opinion. Why should anyone not be able to sell their private property to whoever they want for whatever they want, including their farmland.

Good discussion on here but wondering how many will take the time to do the survey.
