Saw something on a hill today??? Who am I?

It was greyish brown. It floated with the breeze. Up into the air it went. It was like a vapour, but it came from the drill, and I know it was not nh3 gassing off, it was too brownish grey.

It made me happy as heck, and has been a rare thing to see in the last decade. It reminded me of bumper crops. It was exciting.

So, what is it I saw?
