90% of the time here, canola seeded after the 25th will get hit by frost in the fall before canola will be damaged enough to reseed after the 10 th of May if that makes any sense - I duno she's all a cheap shoot . It's the dryness that will be the killer not the -1 to -3 . And btw - we are only at 10% of normal rainfall for most of western Sask - not normal at all , especially for us - has it happened before - yup - but no where near fukin normal .

The neighbour that planted canola when I planted first wheat will have complete ground cover in two weeks. Later planting?????

We're still overcast here but by the looks of Environment Canada's satellite imagery it won't be for long. Had a quarter inch of rain today, a shot at noon, as this cold front squeezed the moisture out of the air.

Well if I could seed the farm in one day, on average ( seems to be the theme) I would take May 10

Farmaholic you have a lot to worry about tonight. On the other side of the coin (pun intended), if you have enough physical cash to put in a crop, wouldnt you keep that in hand/bank and borrow the inputs?

I was under the impression that the premise id was for in the event of a disease outbreak. My opinion is that it should be a confidential number, since it's attached to personal business information.

                      Just sayin'

Either way I end up paying for the inputs. Cash or credit. I don't see the difference.

                          *** , down to 3c already ...
Our latest stuff seeded on cereal stb will be wacked the worst - will be interesting to see how our "Too " black pea stubble where we threw out the "zero till " book holds out in comparison .
Blackened pea stubble - seeded "too" early on May 10th compared to canola drilled into wheat stubble May 18th . I know where my bet is - seeded right across the road from each other . Time will tell
