Well boys looks like another 3 weeks till Rain!

Ok I will explain that this has been up to now the best spring ever. Ok the best spring in 8 to 10 years for most in East Sask. Were back and guys have smiles on their face. But now we are slowly joining the dry club.
Frost is happening or really cool temps. Yesterday at noon we were almost 28 then by 5 we were plus 10 and dropping.
Were good for another two weeks where we are as plants that germinate roots are going down.
Shallow seeded Canola has issues with full perfect germination. A farmer in East sask always wants a little shower or 1/2 inch rain after seeding and most hope that will come by Monday.
Unfortunately todays forecast is not looking that great for rain all week again.
Drew weeks back said rain will come in June just how much was not sure.
Right now were good for two weeks but not sure if the pattern doesn't change we also will join the dryer club.
I did talk to a grain buyer in Lethbridge and he sort of hinted guys are irrigating to get the crops to grow as their was no early or mid seeding rain or snow event. I don't know if this is true but also the fire ban in Alberta and Sask says something.
Time will tell but looks like 2015 has some challenges already. Ah but were Canada we mean nothing to world production as markets think all is ok and fine here. Also India if its a week of plus 50 F$%K me plants aren't thriving in that kind of heat.
Also pictures of the beginning of the USA wheat harvest from Texas look kind of sick for yield and shape of the crop.
Ah but the market knows. Yea right. Have a great Friday its only a crop.

On May 23/2015 you stated "Well finally the weather in western Canada is back to a normal spring. "

Now you state your in the "Dry Club"

This is only a suggestion but in the future you should only generalize weather conditions and crop conditions for your farm. Western Canada is a very vast area and NO one can generalize the weather and crop conditions from their farm yard.

Look on the politicians side of things.

The shipping crisis has been solved.

Have to hand it to railways, last year's shipping crisis looking more and more like just another chapter in one hundred plus year battle with populist farmer opinion.

We've had over an inch of rain in the last day and a half, and half inch 10 days ago. Things weren't desperate ...... yet, but like everyone germination was in places wasn't what we've been used to. We should be good for awhile, looks like next wk could be a good soaker.
Everyone have a good/safe wk end off to lake for some R&R and plenty of golf before spraying fires up.

It wasn't a "cut down" only a suggestion, but if you want to continue setting yourself up for the cut downs that's your choice.

                        Full blast reseeding around here.
Hoping to avoid 3rd pass with drill now.
Canola that was reseeded 5 days ago is up and now it's plus 2 here with crazy cold wind.
Good grief this farming always presents a new challenge every year.
