The chances of a young guy farming 10's of thousands of acres taking advice from a guy who is still using a rodweeder is laughable!
They know what their doing, its all subject to weather.

See that's where I was always different I look at the guys with the healthiest and best crops and ask what they did! Some times they say some times no! But if you see a sprayer at different times you can figure out what their applying and why! But again most who spend the most never seem to have grain left at the end of the year!
The flashy guy usually isn't around that long! He'll broad ass and one but we're about as flashy as you can get!

I didn't think having grain left at the end of the year was much of a scale for anything. Personally I sell grain according to my cash flow requirements and market highs. I know guys still sitting on canola from 3 years ago but that doesn't mean much other than it might be heated. I like money in my bank account not heated grain in the bin.

Spray plans are changing daily here with conditions and now staging
            1. excellent seeding conditions at the start
            2. got extremely cool with "abnormal" hard cold frosts at night
            3.Slow germination and emergence
4.then extremely dry humidity and winds
            5.Frost after frost
            6. Frost damage on emerging crops
            7. Dry weather for two weeks with higher than normal temps and humidity as low as 12%
            8 Frost
            9. High winds and low humidity - again after another frost
            10. Heavy rain and hail with 90 k winds
            11. Risk of frost again tonight
            12. crops in dust south of here 15 miles, north 2 miles buried in mud and pounded into ground with hail.
....Reseeding going on everywhere and stripped flea beatles pounding all canola that "never" froze .. yup all normal here in western Sask... yup
            My monthly report - lol

Partner my weeds like dry also. Why does a weed that starts out with a root the diameter of human hair can overtake a crop if left unchecked. Good comment furrow. sums Er up well. But we are so dry on top and low humidity that Disease pressure should be low.
