A cleaner can take alot of wild mustard out of yellow as the wild is much smaller seed.
If conditions create a small yellow mustard seed size then separation from wild is very tough if not impossible.

mustard, same with the cleavers, but some cleaver seeds are bigger and hard to get out. I am sure tonnes are color sorted but not for the Producer's benefit. I've seen ads in the papers for "offgrade" mustard. Bet I know what they're doing.

After this spring all my nightmares include fleabeatles. Chomp, chomp, chomp all saying in unison, "no mustard for you."

Colour sorting costs 2-4 cents per lb. Depending on the speed it can be sorted.

Never had a problem with flea beatles on Yellow -due to hairy plant the bugs will be gone to nearest canola field.
Used treated seed first time I grew and after that seeded bare seed that costs about $.60 a pound. Slightly less than canola. lol

Actually in my area flee beetles have totally eaten a crops of mustard in couple days. So they cannot be too resistant.

I ended up spraying an aweful lot of Decis this spring because I too thought Yellow mustard was immune to fleabeatles.

Next year it'll all be Lumiderm treated

Why not just spray pounce with the glyphosate?
