    Alberta Socialism

Good luck, Alberta residents, with the budget.
Should indicate how fast and how far NDP government wants to go with socialism.
Used to think that, if nothing else, Saskatchewan
CCF and NDP governments were a lesson that socialism was not the answer to market driven economies.
If modest price regulation is good, as with minimum wage, why is more not better?
    Moderation in all things?

Nothing much will change in the first year, especially with a federal election this fall. Next year will be a different story though.

It is prudent to be afraid this time.

            Afraid of what.

CP is in the process of tearing up a rail line from hodgeville to moose jaw with viterra helping them by mothvalling a 10000 tonne facility.

Trading off salvage value of rail line and a concrete elevator for 100 million in highway repairs.

Hopefully the next group has more sense. The existing group are well past giving a shit.

Surface lease revenue on crown land will go back to the government. Ab cowboys enjoy the $100 a year instead.

There is no doubt the decision makers we have had for too long needed a kick in the ass.
And when your little own backyard pet peeve is taken care of who cares if we go too far the other way. Business and industry large and small will always be there right?

Their chief of staff to the Energy minister is an anti-oil activist from Toronto.
The education and background of their finance minister is social work.

Alberta is in for 4 years of being ruled by left wing loons.....it's too bad they couldn't of learned from Saskatchewan or Manitoba.

If it was working so well in alberta why did they boot Prentice out?

We all know he had good connections to the federal government.

For all those that believe that the majority should rule and so do I, it seems the majority is ruling.

Blackpowder. Your comment about backyard pet peeve. I take no offense if I was suppose to. But FYI hodgeville isn't my back yard only been there I think twice in my life. But I have seen the outcome of what is going to happen there and it's not right for the mlas and mps to sit idly by.

They are OUR loons and we VOTED for them. I hope they do things right by us for a change because the PCers DIDN'T.
We know how our previous governments screwed us Royally so if these guys do the same we will just vote them out instead of keeping them in power for 44 years like we were used to doing.

In 2001, we had frost July 16, canola seeds that were forming in pods dried up. Flowering canola was just fine. Cost us 10bu/acre. Never in the clear. But all world Gov's agree we are TOO hot and need to cool off the climate!

well , as far as the line in hodge ville , any farmers that let that happen , with what we know now, need a boot to the ass. I had nothing to do with this shortline being saved , was many years ago . but thank our lucky stars some smart and energetic people had the foresight and vision to fight tooth and nail to save it . it was a fight for a few years but managed to save it and is a thriving business that employs several people in town and I think has a good relationship with CN . FOR THOSE OF YOU ON THAT LINE , ITS A REAL SHAME !!

Oiver88, I wonder what anyone would learn from MB? Maybe how to rob the coffers of monopoly utility like MB Hydro, then build a bipole line across valuable farmland costing billions extra to supply power to who exactly?
