come on "our one and only farm newspaper" , farm advisers , marketing experts , step up to the plate. I know you're not supposed to talk about crop problems , but this is huge , billions of dollars ! put lots of pictures , cover it like you do the wheat and canola glut and the never ending saga of why commodity prices can't go up because there is a chance of a shower on a forty acre field in South America , etc., etc., etc.

I haven't heard piss all about drought on any media. Last week I clicked on the weather app and it had a story about how soaked the prairies were with that last shotgun storm.

Agreed - crops are now being written off by crop insurance in a huge area in sw Sask - including lentils from what I hear - 3 to 4 in tall with one flower - done

There was a good article in todays Calgary Herald. They quoted 3 or 4 farmers who summed things up quite accurately. Except for one, a smart ass from the Warner area. He bragged about how they only grow drought tolerant crops and besides, that's why farmers carry crop insurance. And then he went on about how you have to set aside money from the good years to cover events like this, blah, blah, blah. So an urbanite reading this will come to what conclusion?
