Somebody can correct this but land in the early eighties was still moving up along with interest rates was it not?

Rates are also a major factor along with inflation and currency debasement. A square foot in Rhodesia is a few trillion or more.

Cow herds have doubled in value.Pastures have doubled in value and grain land has only went down 10 to 20 %.A lot of farms around here are worth more today than they were 2 years ago.
