Russians bail out Greece?

Is everyone cool with Russia bailing out Greece, one side note in the deal though,,,Russia will be allowed, by Greece to build a military base on one of it's islands. That's the trade off for securing the funds from Russia.
That's the leverage Greece is using against Germany and the rest of the E.U. If you don't make it easy for us, we're going to turn to Russia. Would the E.U. like a Russian military base in the heart of the Mediterranean.

I am neutral on this until I know more but would it be any different than the US having bases all over.

It seems they use the reasoning that it adds stability to an area.

Don't know but if it's a big deal then I guess the EU has some decisions to make.

Dont think russia could/would go all the way with the funding but if the motive could be to coheres them into a default with the euro zone it would be a blow. Not that the debt is in the private sector anymore it's on central banks balance sheets but it would be the worthless derivatives contracts on some banks balance sheets that would cause problems and as far as know them banks are still leveraged way to far out to handle much and need to be recapped at some point anyway.

By the sounds of it their going to get a 35 billion dollar bailout which goes back into the troika which are the ones giving them the money in the first place.

I would rather have the USA building bases then the Russians, who can't be trusted. The rest of Europe will never let it happen, especially with Putin in charge, and what's going on in Ukraine.

We as Canadians are very lucky to have the Americans as neighbors!!!

Where is Russia going to get the money from? Russia needs $100 US oil to pay for stuff at home. Nice publicity stunt for Putin. The soap opera continues. At some point they are simply going to have to let Greece go under and join the third world. Depends on which specs are holding which positions on that day.

EU likely not a fan of the prospect of this happening but wouldn't have the desire to stop Russia similar to what they did in the Crimea region of Ukraine

Maybe Italy, with all the immigrants flooding in from north Africa, might be enough to push them over?
