Why would anyone want to give up complete control of their property to anyone?

"any control", would have been a better choice of words.

Perhaps ducks is due for a thorough audit. Just saying I could nail anyone balls to the roof if I was auditor.

I am not a fan of Ducks Unlimited.
DU is not a fan of grain farmers and have been known to do projects that are not in the best interest of the neighbouring farmers.

Similar to others on Agriville I do support the Sask Wildlife Federation and believe it is a good local group.

The story is too long and ****ed up.

Let me just say they are the worst managers of water resources I have seen.

The excuses are long. Their foresight is non existent.

And they are a bunch of arrogant pricks.

Their adds are misleading as well.

They are the worst offenders of drainage.

And not one government agency will regulate them and watch the shit they do.

Notoriously bad managers of grassland - not understanding the basic principle that abandoning pasture and excluding animals does not lead to a wildlife paradise - at least not in the short or medium term.
Will have them for neighbours starting next week in MB.

I've seen DU running ads to sell land but no draining and no breaking caveat??

So, I'm supposed to pay DU for land that I can hunt ducks on? Sounds like a win/lose situation.

If you want to be member of an organization promoting proper land management and smart concerted drainage checkout Saskatchewan Farm Stewartship Association.
The only farm organization that can knowledgably counter the nonsense of DUC to government.

My thoughts on last year's du ad's. Ducks unlimited is a political lobby group and not a charity out ngo, and they must be treated as such.

DUC is funded primarily by the US gov. $100's of Millions over past decades. US gov buying up CDN private farm land... and in our area they want the GOOD land... not poorly drained soils any more. This is not about growing food for hungry people... it is about political influence by enviro buffs.

I have been told a grain farmer with a ditcher trying to effectively grow crops; is as bad as a drunk driver out on the highway... to my face... in front of EDM and Calgary development officers.

Big difference now from Pre May 5 2015 days... told yesterday if using ditcher... need permits. This was not the case last fall at meetings on same issues... farmers were exempt from a practical point of view then.
