Drew Predicted this dryness January 28, 2015.

    From my Jan Farmtech Pic:
(I posted this morning on my Facebook)

"Dryness will be a concern in WestCentral and Northwestern Saskatchewan
    And
    Eastcentral and Northeastern Alberta
Were dryness may be around in both Spring and Summer with High Pressure Prevailing Aloft to keep temperatures warm, humidity low, and Precipitation Lighter than Usual."
From my Farmtech January 28 2015 picture of Drew Lerner's, World Weather Watch presentation.

Yes he did and that is why I pay for his service. Hes the only guy who hit it right on the year it rained all October and we had dry grain to harvest the first two weeks of November.

And even I get the markets right once in a while.

Thanks Drew and those who share the information that he provides. Guess we should have summerfallowed this year, but who expects total absence of even a sniff of rain. These showers are not rain. One inch across 1/3 of the province is rain. With all the subsoil moisture, even a few showers could make a mediocre crop. Maybe showers will come this weekend after some warming up.

Was anything done different because of his prediction?

Seed deeper rooted crops, increase crop ins coverage, cut back on fertilizer?

Or what do you do with his predictions that you pay for?

Harper spent 750 million on weather forecasting did they predict this?

You have mentioned you were flooded out 10 years in a row. Did Drew predict this for your area 10 years in row. If one was to pick and choose long range forecasts, no seeding would ever get done.

              Forage,

              Reality check.

We do the best with what we have. In 2010 I believed the Global warming folks... planted lentils and Soy... and got it between the eyes with a sledge hammer.

Since then... listened to Dew... it has made a massive change to the viability of our farm.

Ignore wise council at your peril.

And this is why I didnt grow an acre of canola!! I know Drew personally talked with him 2 wks ago, he told me he wishes more farmers would had really taken to heart and listened when he basically said watch what you grow in the yr ahead with these conditions looming.
I did have 2000 ac booked but he scared me away, instead grew red lentils. We have had rain things look good for now, but this heat will be a true test of what crops are made of.

3 tenths here since may 1. Not sure many crops even with the subsoil moisture will amount to anything.

                  They are simply burning out.

Even drew has to be shocked by the dryness, low humidity and how quick it's changed.

I knew my canola crop look like shit last year because of the excess moisture and not getting to it. But it would look like a bumper this year.

                    Yes Drew did.

About 700 people at Bourassa's Weyburn grand opening (about Oct/2014); those persons heard him say it as clearly as possible. And throughout his key note speech he kept elaborating on exactly how it has unfolded.

Yes he did have our area for excess rain. First we didn't believe and tried to get every acre seeded and then the floods did take huge acreage last year with the 8 inch rain this week coming up. But he is more bang on than any thing out their.
Were at the edge this year of nice rains and missing the odd shower.

Glad we continued our fertility program - 60-70% at seeding , and top up as needed . May not need anymore now .

Last year he said it was supposed to be dry. I didn't grow any canola. Sure wish I would have last year

No reality check required at my end. If you want to put all your marbles in what you seed each year, based on a long range weather forecaster go right ahead. Next time if Drew says it's going to be wet for your area, plant wild rice. Are you telling me that Drew has some magic formula for predicting long range weather no one else has?

Tom you don't believe in climate change but in a long range weather forecaster. You contradict yourself with every post you make.

Oh ya, who's the one on the so call hunger strike? Now that's reality at it's finest form!!!

Most advertised drought in history and few listened. You don't have to change rotations but lots of things one can do to protect the bottom line. Buy max crop ins, keep some old crop, don't forward price, get long canola futures. Was a no brainer this year.
