I can't properly defend the choice of a new stadium. But gate admission alone on 32K people @ an average $50 ticket pulls 1.6 million out of the economy. Food at the stadium, hotels and restaurants, people travelling for hours. And 10 games per season maybe the odd Play off game, every year for decades to come. Hosting the Grey Cup hopefully more than once per decade on average. Maybe afew big name bands stop.

The old one would have done the job but so would have my early 80's combines. Let's be patient and hopeful the governments see the economic problems a short crop will cause and maybe re-jig the support programs. It really isn't a "Primary Producer" subsidy after all, more of an Industry subsidy paid to Producers to disperse of to the rest of the Industry to keep the ball rolling.

Exactly farma, the US always saw support $$$ as economy subsidy, our Govs see it as "farm aid", that ends in our wallets. The chain will collapse with out being fed by primary producers. When others are squeezed, then Govs take notice. We need to tell all suppliers to cry for aid, maybe CN/CP, potash corp?.

Yeah that's the stumper. Let the kids use it in the winter time. A year round facility just makes more sense considering the taxpayers are on the hook for this.

Kids school thinks they need new computers every second year so the kids put their name in for a free draw to win a computer. My kid won one and I said good job wife says ya well only fifteen kids put their name in out of forty computers up for grabs. I am obviously not equipped to deal with understanding this world.

Lid ya!!! but my question is why build it with fewer seats than old Taylor field, when the provincial population has increased 10percent in the last 8yrs, and you supposedly have the greatest fans in the league. Not enough "cheap" seats for kids to go to games, they are your future fans. I loved the Rookie Section as a kid! All kids, no adults, it was great. Probably too much dysfunction in society for that to happen now days.

Wasn't there some blabbing on TV the other day about provincial budget surplus and what to do... and I thought something was mentioned about helping Ag. The bonus is we don't have a socialist provincial government begging a conservative federal government for help with the issue. Lets see what comes of it.

Season tix are on sunny side. Was plenty hot yesterday. The old mosaic is a piece of crap. To embrace it solidifies the fact we truly are rednecks living 40 years in the past. Putting a lid on it would have been great, however if security in new building is as good as old one we would all have been baked by the 4th 1/4 from the losers smoking weed. Last night some retard is smoking weed 2 rows in front while the second hand smoke is drifting over my 11 year old and someone's 5 year old. I pitch a fit to security who walks over and tell him nicely to put it out and walks away. Now I'm pissed off and holler at security to kick him out before I shove his stash up his ass sideways. Finally after apparently me causing quite a scene, senior security comes over and kicks him out. What a bunch of morons. That wasn't you smoking your sorrows away was it farmaholic ???

I think the reason for no lid is the city and the Riders didn't want to pay for it.
The cost of heating that stadium through the winter might have been a large factor.
