The US Situation

Apparently nobody on here follows what's happening in the Midwest.... rain rain and more rain. My Facebook and Twitter and agtalk are full of pics of corn yellow and dying beans under water. Guys trying to replant and not able to get out there.


Why isn't this having an effect on the market?

Soybeans have rallied $1/bu in 2 weeks, or just over 10%, and Corn is up 40 cents, or similar %, has been quite a trend change. To me that is a response?

Cuz rain reports in Chicago, means a bumper on the way. Reality will set in in a couple months.

What do you think has been pushing up canola! It's not just a little drought in AB.
Look out if they get whip-sawed and it suddenly turns ugly hot, say 38-42, that late seeded, or moisture stressed, shallow rooted crop will really take it hard.

Gross smoke..Visibility is less than 1/4 mile..Wonder why we get a North wind every time there is forest fire issues?

Wheat markets have been moving up rapidly over the last two weeks.

Although many market analysts have stated the world is not short wheat.

Remember how wet it was here in Western Canada the last couple of years? Those harvests turned out pretty good for us I would say.

tbm. obviously you werent too wet like we were or you sure wouldnt think that ? peas that you never even got seed back ? barley at 35bpa, canola 40% drowned out ? etc.

Tbh their like we were! Water like that doesn't make grain, it gives moderate rainfall areas big crops it takes acres.
