Depends if you are buying or selling ;-)

A few squares trading at 10-14, Rounds at roughly $100....seems like many don't talk in pounds...which really makes it difficult.
Really good hay posted about $275/tonne.

Really good hay posted at $375 ton delivered central AB. It is 2nd cut pure alfalfa. 173 rfv. 22% protein. Still don't see how you could make that pencil in any kind of beef ration.

Drove home from north of valley to balgonie last night. Canola is the one crop that's not coming back. Most fields thin and then finished flowering on south side all way to town. Peas are the next one that is not coming back to life.
Funny thing it gets sunny for two days in the USA where its flooded and markets drop because sun makes grain. Yea like that's happening any time soon.
Same with first rain in months in West Canada. Rain makes grain where it has happened before about a week to 10 days ago. Where its been dry all spring, rain wakes stuff up but its like a band aid if the heat returns it just bought you some time.
If its UGLY rain is just a little makeup that when washed off is still UGLY.

SF3, spotty showers picked winners and losers. It can be very frustrating for the losers. Farming has never been easy and any old timer will tell you that there have been very few years where we have not been "tested". We'll just be happy to get this crop off dry and sound. Whatever will be-will be. As long as all are diligent to the safety issues that plague our industry, and our families are safe, we will be ready for more challenges in next year country.

Our later seeded Canola loves this. Just in time delivery!!! It is exploding... has really good roots... and can gather nutrients well with the moisture that is forecast in the next 2 weeks.

We are very blessed that it stayed cool enough to get over the drought hump! Not a big crop like last year... but very good considering all it went through to get to this point!!!

            Cheers!
