    Nitrogen Fixing For All Crops

Pie in the sky or holy grail?

    #2
Another crop input. Now I need to inoculate my wheat!

    Seems interesting though.

The nitrogen fixing trait should be bred into cereals. p.s. That wheat didn't look too hot.

Talking with a neighbour that farms 20,000 acres, started growing fababean beans mostly for the nitrogen fixation. He seems to want to decrease his fertilizer costs. This will send this over to him, he is progressive and will take a serious look at it.

Urea and this pie n the sky technology is already obsolete on my farm. Bought an ole 1200hp power plant for scrap metal price from Cp rail a couple years ago. Mounted it on a cart behind an ole 60 ft morris maxim toolbar. Got it crankin out 100 million volts by sending it through three pti transformers in series. The hitch of the toolbar is insulated from the drawbar of course and i send the juice directly to the frame of the toolbar. The sparks find the way to the ground via the existing openers on 10inch, i keep the openers up outa the ground at all times. Im puttin on 100lbs actual N in one pass at 10mph burning about 70 gals of diesel an hour. Its best to go shortly after a rain ole sparky is a bit of a pyromanic. THe wife thinks its funny how it makes my hair stand on end.

COOL! N for pennies a pound. How exactly have you rigged up the hitch insulation?
What do the neighbours think? Are you looking for any custom work?

No patent open source, rather stick it to the man and protect mother earth. Insulated tractor with a 20 foot length of power pole, cheap and easy lol. Dont give a shit what neighbours think.

Big Lentil, you are super human. I knew I liked you just because of your name, but now I wanna come to see the show. How does the electricity fixate nitrogen in the ground- sort of reminds me of the lightning legends.
