Rain does more Damage than Good.

In the 80s when we were dry and also farmed north of Yorkton .The farmers all told us if it was so hard to grow grain we should just seed everything to grass and raise cows. This area was dryer than the 80s this spring and crops were coming not bad.But the second dry year is the killer.Looks like this should recharge ground and kill or delay grasshopper population.They were half the problem in the 80s.

Bucket it will be a net benefit this year as well. Not for peas as they are near dessication. However should fill the canola up much better as it's just nicely finished flowering and really could t fill up the pods properly on the available moisture. Early durum will keep it plump and late durum will be plumper yet. Barley on the other hand is crap
And will not benefit at all so this goes into next years bank for both the barley stubble and pea stubble. Now if this fires up another 3" again in 10-14 days I will sing a different tune.

Forecast is for 30 degrees again on Saturday. With a lot of moisture around, that may spawn more showers. Hope not.
