    Happy Civic Holiday!!!

    For all those 'civil' folks out there... thanks to the many who work long hours to administer and provide gov. services to help us live better together...

    Where is came from... Wiki quote;
    "In 1974 the Government of Alberta, acting through Minister of Culture Dr. Horst A. Schmid, declared the first Monday in August an annual holiday to recognize and celebrate the varied cultural heritage of Albertans, known as Heritage Day.[4] This gave rise in 1976 to the Edmonton Heritage Festival, a three-day celebration of food, dance, and handicrafts of cultures from around the world. Heritage Day has been an "optional" civic holiday, having been downgraded from a statutory holiday following the introduction of Family Day in 1990."

    Long and varied celebrations around Canada on this weekend... a good time to be happy and celebrate our Canadian culture!!!

    Cheers to one and all!!! Eat Drink and be merry!!!!

    Yes I agree that was nice tom. Have a nice day and realize the conservative reform party wants to eliminate half of your jobs. But have no worries
    Oilfield truck driver jobs are plentiful and you will make 4 times as much. How does a kissed but actually feel? Oh never mind won't happen to a farmer anyway.

    Bless all of you and Jesus. And some other guys.

        Terry Fox Day in Manitoba. We celebrated it by actually baling some hay that hasn't been rained on!

          I just about fell out of my chair laughing at the first sentence in Tom's post. You've got to be kidding me, probably one of the least productive segments of the work force.

            Farma,

            If you can't say something nice...

            I do know many folks that are very hard working people in our civil service.

            They are appreciated by our family... and a valuable asset for many financial and risk management parts of our farm here in Alberta.

            Thanks again... you are valuable to our economy here in Alberta...and Canada!
            Cheers, God Bless Alberta and Canada!

              Mb govt employee union runs adds year round on radio reminding us how important they are in providing services, and the sacrafices they make. Ha ha ha. Must be fearing the day the ndp get the boot.
