    DePape gets hes corn pone

For the $750 000.00 we know what we are getting. We are getting screwed.

We have a dysfunctional marketing system controlled by the trans national grain companies.

The price of 1RS wheat at my elevator is $5.60 a bushel CDN or $4.10 a bushel US. Some may call this Freedom but it is robbery. We have a drought reduced crop.

With respect to De Pape I previously informed our readers Mark Twain once said "tell me where a man gets his corn pone from and I'll tell you what his pinion is"

De Pape Harpers servant gets a lot of corn pone while we farmers get the shaft.

Feed wheat at my local pig barn is more than your number one. Take initiative, and stop relying on hard red and the elevator system.

Wheat could have been priced at much much higher levels not that long ago. Sometimes people screw themselves and blame grain cos, DePape, anyone but the person in the mirror.

I never understood why farmers have such a romance with HRSW. They sell it for less than hog feed just so they can proudly tell anyone who will listen how they sold their beautiful hard red spring wheat as a #1!

Braveheart. Only a fool would have prepriced a drought ravaged crop without AOG. Unless you want to gamble at the Futures and Options Casino. Then there's the infamous premium/discount dilemma. **** I sound like a broken record but not any worse than some others who suggest hindsight marketing skills.....

Freewheat, I admire your resourcefulness and hope you always get paid for what you sell. Some aren't always so lucky.

Work safe and smart. Take care.

Pasteur yields over 100 an acre and worth 5 bucks.... no more hard red here.

Use options to insure yourself and price your crop. You could sell at highs and profit from what you didn't deliver too.

Farmaholic, no crop, no prepricing needed. Also no wheat to spot sell naturally. But, if you have a crop, taking price protection may be a good idea. Also, for those of us lucky enough to need space, locking in some tonnes gives us access to the elevator system.

Hindsight marketing? It's only hindsight if you didn't do it.

This thread reminds me that I need to fill those " Give me back my ####### money sheets again" to the commissions

Oh no, it can be hindsight marketing if you've done something that proves to be wrong..... in hindsight.
