I filled up yesterday at less than a buck a litre...today bureaucrats were bitching about gas prices in Ottawa at $1.02.

U.S. has competitive/collusion laws with teeth and use them...we have politicians with no balls.

GasBuddy.com has very interesting historical graphs comparing crude oil prices with Canadian gas pump prices. https://blog.gasbuddy.com/Retail_Price_Chart.aspx

Warning: do not view if prone to outbursts of anger or a conspiracy theorist!

Latest GasBuddy average regular gasoline prices by state range (converted to price in Can$/liter) from C$0.75 SC to C$1.24 CA. Comparatively, prices range from C$1.11 Ont to $1.34 NWT. Most interesting is only 2 states have higher prices than 1.11 (lowest provincial price in Canada) and those are Alaska and California.

One thing the media and everyone else forgets: oil is down to $45/bbl, in US funds. Our dollar is dropping along with the price of crude so we see little or no advantage. And no I'm not sticking up for the oil companies - I put them in the same pile as all politicians: liars and thieves.

Funny thing, last election I was voting Conservative and I still got a call sending me to the wrong polling station. Go figure! Guess they didn't want Sumdumguy voting for them.

Think Justin Trudeau got it right when he said it shows what the government was doing for the sole reason of getting elected again instead of serving the Canadian Taxpayers.Like I said before Harper is only leading the conservative party. He has forgot to be a Canadian leader long ago.
