    Cool Wet Week Ahead!

Well where oh where did last weeks heat go and can it come back soon.
Cool start today and cool Saturday and windy Sunday!
Harvest should get in full gear in our area today as Peas could go. Swathing of Canola and Barley will take place as lots of early seeded turned on weekend. Some fields very fast.
Hrs is going to get sprayed this week for sure on most farms in the area.
But sure wish the heat would come back.
Ah Fall is in the air I think.

        SF3,

I see Edm International Airport was 1C... so likely some light frost south of Leduc and Three Hills the same. Grande Cache froze at -2c but it always freezes every month there.

Rain in the forcast every day this week. Not good at all. Harvest will be a gong show if we ever get in there.

Similar to Humboldt, 1.5" in the week, wet, lodged, twisted crop will be slow go. Not a drop more or harvest could be hell. Barley down in area, going to ruin. Lots of canola soon ready.

Red lentils in the bin. Yield was the best you could expect despite the fact that there was no rain until July 19. Thank God for flex headers, no other way to deal with 8 inch stand. A rented piece of organic land just north yielded 1/4 of the other land. I see now why you guys hate Summerfallow. I have been at Parsley's farm and their land is so beautiful and productive, but not this land, me thinks that guy needs to go to Parsley College.

Sumdumguy, I think its location location location. Parsley is likely in the black soil zone. Where it tends to rain more to start with.

4/10" in 20 minutes, mud and water, everywhere cause it's saturated again.

We're getting pissy little showers that made us quit. It's like a real heavy dew in the morning. Just enough to duck things up. Glad its not more. Yet.

Wheat is 15 % px, 63 lbs/bu, not much of it but it visually looks ok.

Good news for those of us in other sectors of agriculture. Just remember not everyone grows grain.
Apart from my millet, cooler and wet would be ideal for us now.
