    Heads Up

Im not being antagonistic on this one. Industry is washing their hands of any involement except for the "warning" posted here. Buyers prefer lower prices and will do/say anything for it to happen. They make their money on handling and volume, no matter the price of grain.

      Pour,

I think you are right.... the conspiracy farmer food song!

the "warning" posted here. Farmers (Especially organic) prefer lower prices for farm supplies,...and will do/say anything for it to happen. They make their money on extracting the lowest price possible from suppliers, no matter what percent these supplies cost make their food/produce supplied to consumers.

“Zero means zero, and it can become hugely costly to the industry if we get locked out of certain countries.”...

So don't get sprayer happy or you could f*ck it up for all of us!
Pioneer is having all customers sign a declaration that you HAVE NOT used clever or manipulator on your crop.
Soon glyphosate will be added, so be aware, could cost you the farm if sued.

I agree that farmers have to stay on label for farm chemical use. Many companies use MRL's for various chemicals. Others use Codex. Bottom line is that if a chemical is detected above a MRL in a grain shipment that was not registered in the country of origin regardless if it is registered in the destination country, the entire shipment can be subject to rejection. The grain co's all have samples of your product and they can trace the problem to the source. Beware

You guys are right. Farmers better think about the samples that are held in trust by the elevator companies and how they are taken, handled and stored to prevent contamination and accidental misrepresentation.
Your farm could be on the line.

fjilip, difference is glyphosate has an international and registered MRL. So no it won't be added soon.

"Glyphosate is also facing heavier scrutiny after the World Health Organization issued a claim that it is “probably” a carcinogen. Because of that, producers “have to read and follow label instructions,” said Smolik. Like other chemicals, glyphosate enters and remains in the plant at low levels, and early application of the chemical can compound that. “Monsanto’s instruction is that anything over 30 per cent head moisture is going to be retained in the seed,” said Smolik. “If you’re spraying, even though the majority of the crop is 30 per cent or under, those areas that are green are certainly not under 30 per cent."

The consumer is fed up with residues of all types. Consumer is always right, he has the money.

China is testing for 400 chemicals. Looks like China is coming up with excuses to get free grain. Mind you China will soon be broke and can only afford to import free grain. That will cost us our farms. The customer want high quality for free is where this is going.

I have no problem not using certain chemistry - just don't change the rules or put out alerts half way through spring spraying or fall dedicating - that's absolutely B/S . They are only doing this to cover their own "buts" after the fact and that is not right

Look a little into the codex alimentarius a little and you might just put on a tinfoil hat. Things like garlic, peppermint, vitamin C might soon become by prescription only for our own safety. Give me a break.

Pharma would love it if things like garlic/vit c/etc were outlawed.
