Oops I guess I voted for Chrétien yikes was I young and stupid. I was a working stiff in the big city at the time. He stole 40 million from tax payers and gave it to his buddies. I have allways voted for Harper. I was trying to buddy up with you lefties and Libs but you sniffed me out.

Just look at the Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan provincial governments for a NDP, Liberal, Conservative comparison.

The choice is pretty clear who to vote for if you own a farm.

The sask party has been as a big a flop for re rural saskatchewan as the ndp were. Hospitals closing crop premiums raised foreigners taking over agristability gutted

The farm sector has never been in such a situation where all the risk has been dowoaded to the family farm.

Wall s buddies formed the land companies then let's open up foreign investment to farms. Instant millionaires. Those initial sales of land were done at a price at a fraction of what they were worth. Quite underhanded when you know the gov is going to open up foreign ownership and you buy all that land for under value. A lot of farm families wet duped.

And no I m not for stopping value of land from raising in fact it should but it has to raise according to what the return on farming it brings. Not because some Chinese or Pakistani s have a game plan regardless of what the farm can actually support. And that is where the canadian farmers are at a disadvantage.

But wall is no different than Steve sell it all off as long as your buddies make big money that don't even farm. No vision what so ever. In that respect the ndp were actually better by a long shot.

NDP took grip away when needed. Also took away my wife's pension which I started paying into. Had to match the NDP landbank when buying land .33 times assesment.Brad Wall should be in no way compared to Harper.Brad Wall was young and had the right people around him to run a government as a group. There still is a conservative party in Sask.

Harper and Wall are the only leaders of pro-business governments that are good for western Canada.

You might be right Oliver88 but I am not waiting another 4 years to see how much better it can get.

                  1. The highways are shit
                  2. The municipal are getting pounded out because of the above.
                  3. Rail lines still being tore out
                  4. No transparent reports like forward sales like in the states.
                  5. No regulator on the railway - any news on the railways paying their fines- nope.
                  6. Money for every group after the farm granted away under the grow forward 2 program. None of it works unless you keep farmers here. Unless you use groups like broad acre to funnel money.

Can't wait for a pro business PM to help everyone but primary producers.

Both wall and harper have to go.

I can't believe I am saying that after voting conservative since 18.

But those guys lack vision for anything but themselves.

Riders the only G7 country with a better balance sheet imo would be Germany. The USA has added trillions to their debt since Obama came to power. France and Italy are financial basket cases. Cameron in Great Britian has done his best but still runs a deficit and the same in Japan. To state Canada is the only one with a deficit is laughable.

The other countries are running deficits but maybe they have something to show for it.

Canada has a bunch of empty cartridges. That about it.

Having a balanced budget but an infrastructure deficit 100x larger is no feather in any PMs hat.

The saskatchewan government can't support farmers but can build a 400 million 3 month stadium for 9 games a year. Or spend 2 billion dollars to build a bypass around regina to have it end up back in the city. These guys are ****ing nuts.

                        Hamloc

Canada's is in 5th place regarding unemployment at 6.8% only France 10.2% and Italy 12.0% are worse.

As for GDP per Canadian citizen we're at $44,000.00 while in the USA and Germany's their at $54,000.00 per citizen. This is all in US dollars.

As for a budget surplus that is questionable on many fronts.

So please quite repeating the PMO talking points which we all know are full of BS.

The bank of Montreal just announced 1.15 billion 3rd quarter profit.

Seems there should be some 300 million in taxes to be paid. But that goes to the bank coffers as deferred taxes for a later date.

Try as a farmer to defer your taxes the way banks do.

US budget deficit 2014 500 billion, roughly 10 times as many people in US as in Canada. Using that ratio ours would be 50 billion if we ran the same level of deficit financing. What was our deficit? Canada labour force participation rate 65.7%,US participation rate 62.6%. Anyway this thread was started to find out what the Libs and NDP would do differently only Harper bashing so far lol.

Since we are comparing to the US.

They have mandatory grain sales reporting.

                              They have a railway regulator.

They support farmers even if they grow record crops. Even more if they gave a failure.

They understand farmers are a strategic resource.

If you think Harper is getting bashed on here where a higher % of people are fans of the Conservatives than the true Canadian average. You should see the bashing he is getting on social media.Heard an Edmonton guy drove to Vancouver with f##k off Harper sign on his van.Thumbs up all the way there and back.
