    North wind ..

Not a good set up after a rain . The wind has that bite to it today . If it clears and is calm it will be close - prob too close

But it is wet. Dry, I would worry. Would frost still hurt you over there?

        Sawfly,

We straight cut so peas do not sprout and rot. Did you swath them?

          Tom

Peas will sprout standing or go to shit standing or swathed. It doesn't matter just give it enough time with your glorious rains.

I have had numerous years of multiple rains on standing peas Bucket and never had them sprout. In a swath and they are sprouted in 24-36hrs. SMRT guy here just swathed 200 acres yesterday and swaths are laying in water this morning. NOT GOOD...............

Fair enough but have seen sprouted peas in the pod standing.

You might get a quicker dry out that way jdgreen.

You are usually earlier harvesting in august do that might be part of it.

Time will tell , lots of reseeded canola here , depends on what variety was reseeded and how quick it was reseeded.
Being very wet here will help .
If we miss tomorrow morning , should be good for 10 days.
Bran frost will be on all wheat , except a few very early fields .
It's going to be close is all I know

Oh shit furrow the fact you mentioned frost and it froze in calgary last night means the graincos will be downgrading for frost.

Our area needs at least 10-14 days without a frost or the canola crop will take a big hit.
Perhaps that would help the price.

Tom the powerfold hoppers are a joke. Got rid of a 670 and traded it for a new 680 with a michels hopper topper instead, and way way nicer. Not only do they not resist >2mm of rain, the canola blows right out of the hopper on a windy day, the POS corner canvas's will fold over when full of peas/durum and grain pours out like a waterspout. Now like insanity states bought a second 680 with powerfold hopper and hoping for a different result LOL.
